What’s the story?
No alliance or friendship lasts forever in the kayfabe spectrum of pro wrestling. It’s common knowledge that most teams are formed with the sole intention of getting a superstar over which explains the high frequency of new formations and splits.
It seems WWE is building up towards another such breakup as an exclusive backstage video seemingly confirmed the impending split between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. WWE has been working towards the break up in recent weeks and by the looks of it, it could happen pretty soon enough.
In case you didn’t know…
Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose made their main roster debuts in November 2017 as part of the Absolution stable under the tutelage of Paige. Paige’s unfortunate retirement due to a serious neck injury derailed Deville and Rose’ momentum, who were both drafted to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up.
At the first-ever All-Women’s PPV WWE Evolution, Deville was eliminated by Rose which sparked reports of a potential split.
The heart of the matter
November 20th , 2018 marked the first year anniversary of Deville and Rose’ debuts on the main roster. The SmackDown Superstars were interviewed backstage on the occasion of reaching the milestone and it was pretty evident that the relationship between the two has changed drastically from what it was a year ago.
Rose reminisced the day they made their debuts in Houston, Texas, however, Deville was more focused on the present when she admitted she can’t trust Rose anymore.

What’s next?
The split is just around the corner and it would be interesting to see who assumes of heel and face roles in the feud. It’s pretty hard to tell who will turn on whom, which is a good thing as it aids the build up.
