WWE News: Stephanie McMahon says she doesn’t know when she’ll return to WWE programming

How long until the Billionaire Princess returns to TV?

What’s the story?

Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon was recently interviewed by The National, where she and discussed working with Raw General Manager Kurt Angle once she returns to TV. During the interview, Stephanie claimed that she has no idea when she’ll return to WWE programming. Here’s what she said:

"Honestly, I don’t know and that is the God’s honest truth."

In case you didn’t know...

Stephanie McMahon has been a heel authority figure since 2013 when she and her husband formed The Authority and began backing several wrestlers aligning with their interest including Seth Rollins and Randy Orton.

Since 2013, Stephanie’s character has been a major talking point amongst fans as many people feel she emasculates the wrestlers on the roster, while rarely ever receiving her comeuppance.

The last notable instances of Stephanie getting some form of comeuppance were at WrestleMania 32 when Roman Reigns accidentally speared her and WrestleMania 33 when Seth Rollins kicked Triple H and caused him to accidentally knock Stephanie off the ring apron and through a table.

The heart of the matter

While Stephanie didn’t give a timetable for her return to Monday Night Raw, she did express a desire to work with Angle, calling him a funny and entertaining character.

"I can’t wait to work with Kurt. Kurt is so entertaining. He is really funny. I think it is going to be so much and hopefully having that interaction and this time the situation is a little bit different as I am the boss."

What’s next?

Unlike Triple H, Stephanie McMahon isn’t likely to take a long hiatus before returning to television.

Expect an announcement to be made by the WWE when Stephanie McMahon does return to television. Until then, tune into Monday Night Raw to see if the Billionaire Princess makes an unannounced return.

Author’s take

Stephanie’s absence from the show has been a breath of fresh air that Raw has desperately needed. Her character has been viewed as too negative and too draining for the three-hour program by fans and the fact that her character has been the same for the last 5 years doesn’t help her case.

In a perfect world, her character wouldn’t return for a few months or even years, but that would probably never happen. Expect to see her back on TV before Great Balls of Fire at the very least.
