What’s the story?

WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin recently provided some important advice to three of WWE’s biggest superstars in Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Braun Strowman, via his podcast, The Steve Austin Show.

In case you didn’t know…

WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, along with Braun Strowman and Shinsuke Nakamura are arguably some of WWE’s biggest and most standout performers who are currently working on the active roster.

‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins has been on a roll as of lately, ever since he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34, whereas, ‘The Artist’ Shinsuke Nakamura has also perfectly adapted to his new heel moniker, in his on-going feud with WWE Champion AJ Styles.

Lastly, speaking of ‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman, the former Raw Tag Team Champion is arguably the most over WWE superstar today alongside Daniel Bryan and Rusev and Strowman have been successfully able to deliver on every occasion on Monday Night Raw or be it a big pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter

During the recent edition of The Steve Austin Show, WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin provided some kindly advice to all three aforementioned WWE superstars. (H/T: E Wrestling)

Steve Austin on Seth Rollins:

According to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, he thinks that there are times when WWE IC Champion Seth Rollins relies a bit too much on high spots and should instead use a few more right hands and straight up his offense, in order to ignite a comeback during a match.

In addition, Austin noted that there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for Rollins to impersonate WWE Champion AJ Styles, but sometimes a babyface is got to implicate the good old fashioned knuckles or feet as an offense.

“If you can keep working his way around it, more power to him; but, sometimes when you are using those high spots as comebacks, it’s like I really want to see Miz have his ass handed to him a little bit more.”

Steve Austin on Braun Strowman:

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin believes that ‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman is an alpha and should be careful while he’s competing in the ring in order to make sure that he doesn’t become second to anybody or else the 6 ft 8 monster will eventually start to lose his mystique and power.

Austin believes that if the WWE creative start puffing up Strowman, then they're causing him more harm than good and are eventually going to diminish him.

“He’s a little like Stone Cold and a lot like Braun Strowman. I don’t need to see a 6’8″ 330 pound guy make me laugh, make me smile, bring any warmth to my body – I want to see him go out there and destroy and crush people because he’s capable of doing it and because his desire for the gold belt is so great that’s what drives him…he’s been a competitor his whole life…Braun Strowman, as well as he’s done over the last few years still has a ways to go and he’s not bulletproof. If you start puffing that kid up, you’re gonna diminish him.”

Steve Austin on Shinsuke Nakamura:

‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ thinks that as of right now, he wouldn’t do much with Shinsuke Nakamura and would rather knock off the comedic side of the former NXT Champion because apparently, there is absolutely no need for Nakamura to be that entertaining while he’s cutting a promo.

“I wouldn’t do a whole lot with Shinsuke; but, I’d knock off the comedy because I don’t think he needs that to be entertaining. If Renee [Young] asks him a question, if he just sits there and looks at the camera, because he’s not gonna answer the camera – to me after a period of silence, you just fade out and go to the next match."
"Then you let Michael Cole and those guys pick it up and, ‘Hey man I think this guy is going to talk when he wants to and not talk when he doesn’t want to.’ That way you can get off of him, leave something to talk about, still be entertaining and not put him in a comedic light because as The King of Strong Style, that’s a statement.”

What’s next?

Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Braun Strowman will now look to turn their focus towards the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV, which takes place on the 17th of June.

Author’s take

In my opinion, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is absolutely right regarding all three of his opinions and personally, I also feel the WWE should rather follow all the aforementioned advice.
