What's the story?

WWE SmackDown Live appears to be seeing a number of returns from WWE Superstars this week as it saw two returns in the very second segment of the show.

Following the return of Kevin Owens in a controversial segment to start off the show, the first match of the night saw Team XTreme reunite as they went head to head with the former Tag Team Champions -- The Bar. Matt Hardy has returned to WWE.

In case you didn't know...

Professional Wrestling is always a dangerous activity, as the wrestlers put their bodies at risk of injury every time they enter the ring and perform at the top of their level.

Matt Hardy knows this better than most. It was revealed in 2018 that Matt Hardy was suffering from several injuries at the same time, and he might retire because of that, so as not to put any more risks on his body. His back and his stomach were becoming fused together due to the repetitive abuse he had put it through during his long career as a high-flying Superstar.

However, he did go through rehabilitation, and it turned out that with treatment, Hardy would return to action one more time.

The heart of the matter

Jeff Hardy was set to be in a tag team match with The Bar -- Sheamus and Cesaro. However, when he came out, the WWE Universe was pleased to discover that he was not alone. His partner was none other than his brother and teammate of many years -- Matt Hardy.

The two put on an incredible show, and in his return match, Matt Hardy was able to defeat the former Tag Team Champions and pick up the win.

Team XTreme appears to be back in the WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team division.

What's next?

With Team XTreme newly reunited, they may be setting up for yet another run at the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The Usos better watch out.
