What’s the story?

WWE Hall of Famer and former three-time WWF Tag Team Champion ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase Sr. recently spoke with the Mirror where he talked about Stone Cold Steve Austin’s exceeding expectations within the WWE and his work experience with ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ back in the day.

In case you didn’t know…

During the year 1994, ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase Sr. formed a villainous faction in the WWF called The Million Dollar Corporation. Initially, the faction consisted the likes of Nikolai Volkoff, Bam Bam Bigelow, Irwin R. Schyster, and Tatanka.

However, by the year 1995, Dibiase had nobody left to manage and was eventually paired up with Steve Austin, who quickly adopted the moniker of “The Ringmaster” and was awarded the Million Dollar Championship by Dibiase.

The heart of the matter

During his latest interview with Mirror, Ted Dibiase Sr. stated that the actual reason why he decided to make 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin the Million Dollar Champion on Raw is that Dibiase had seen the actual potential and talent Steve Austin had to offer.

“I remember telling him [Austin] - because a lot of people were telling him 'You need to do more' - I remember telling him, 'Don't do anything different, because what you do is believable, it's real.'”- Ted Dibiase stated.

Dibiase also said that WWE eventually did not fail to recognize Steve Austin’s true potential and decided to give him a strong push, with ‘The Million Dollar Man’ as his manager. Additionally, the 64-year-old also claimed that he thinks Steve Austin exceeded everybody's expectations in WWE.

What’s next?

Both Austin and Dibiase Sr. are currently retired from the Pro Wrestling business, however, both men were recently a guest on Raw’s 25th Anniversary show which took place in the city of New York.
