WWE News: The Great Khali aims to take WWE to every Indian city

The giant is giving back to his motherland

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Great Khali (real name Dalip Singh Rana) is looking to give back to his home country of India after finishing up his run inside the squared circle with the WWE. ‘The Punjabi Playboy’ claims that he wants to take the WWE’s major product style of wrestling to each and every city in his home country during a press conference alongside Haryana’s Sports Minister Anil Vij:

"My aim is to take the WWE kind of wrestling to every city in the country. I returned from the United States last year because I wanted to do something which would provide new platform to the wrestlers in my country," Khali, who addressed a joint press conference here along with Haryana's Sports Minister Anil Vij, said.

Khali is excited to bring professional wrestling to his native country and has organized for two live events to go down on October 8th and October 12th under his Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) banner. 15 international and 35 Indian fighters are expected to be on hand for the event.

"It will be nothing like what India has seen so far," he said about the Gurgaon and Panipat events, in which he threw open challenge to any international star of the likes of The Undertaker to come and fight with him.

"Haryana is one state that loves combat sports. In fact, majority of the kids who learn wrestling from me are from Haryana," said Khali, who runs his academy in Punjab.

The former WWE star wants to give the youth in India an opportunity to showcase their talents rather than fall in with the wrong crowd and get involved in illegal activities such as drug abuse:

"What I am doing would give youths platform to showcase their talent, especially when we get to hear stories from far and wide of youths falling into drug menace, atleast they have something positive to look towards to," he said.

The former World Heavyweight Champion Khali once dominated the likes of future WWE Hall Of Famers The Undertaker, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and many others once he took center ring. Now after having finished up his work inside the ring, Khali is looking to take what he’s learned from the WWE and apply it to his local promotions in India.
