The Hardy Boyz are back...in the video game

What’s the Story?

Matt Hardy took to Twitter to announce that he and his brother would be playable characters in WWE 2K18 and available to all gamers who purchase a DLC pack, season pass, or the deluxe edition.

In Case You Didn’t Know

The cover star for WWE 2K18 is Seth Rollins and marks the first time since WWE 2K15 that a full-time wrestler graced the cover of the WWE 2K video game.

The 2K showcase returned for WWE 2K18 and focuses on the career of John Cena from his debut on SmackDown to the present. His showcase also included the return of several characters including Batista and Rob Van Dam.

The video also includes information regarding the Kurt Angle pack which will have two versions of the Olympic Gold Medalist - one from the Attitude Era (with hair) and one from the Ruthless Aggression Era.

The Heart of the Matter

The roster for WWE 2K was already packed with a variety of stars from Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT and other eras in wrestling but the addition of The Hardy Boyz will give fans a better experience with the full roster at their disposal.

Though The Hardy Boyz have been confirmed as a DLC pack, there’s been no news regarding any of their old entrance songs being included.

Jeff Hardy has not been featured in a WWE video game since WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 while Matt Hardy hasn't been featured since the 2011 video game which marked the end of the SmackDown vs. Raw title.

What’s Next?

The game will be released on Oct. 17, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

The following are the breakdown of prices for each version of the game:

Regular Version: $59.99
Deluxe Version: $89.99
Cena (Nuff) Version: $149.99

Author’s Take

WWE 2K18 is getting better and better with these characters being made available. There will be more DLC announcements to come but they can only add to what seems like will be a great gaming experience.
