WWE News: The person who will induct Mark Henry into the WWE Hall of Fame is revealed

Who can
Who can forget that stylish jacket Mark Henry wore when we "thought" he was retiring in 2013?

What's the story?

On Monday morning, the WWE announced that the Big Show would be inducting Mark Henry into the Hall of Fame; which will take place this Friday evening.

In case you didn't know...

The pro wrestling careers of Big Show and Mark Henry are almost parallel. Big Show started his professional wrestling career in October of 1995 for WCW as The Giant. Mark Henry began his professional wrestling career less than a year after in September of 1996 where he wrestled for WWE his entire career.

The heart of the matter

WWE called the task of inducting Mark Henry into their Hall of Fame a titanic one; therefore, there was nobody better to induct him than "The World's Largest Athlete" The Big Show. The WWE also mentioned the biggest rivalry between these two gentlemen for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2011.

Big Show spoke with WWE.com about being announced as the person to induct Henry. Check out what he had to say below:

"I've spent a lot of time going up and down the road with Mark Henry," Big Show told WWE.com. "I've had battles with him, and I know what kind of a human being and community leader he is. I can't think of anyone more deserving of the WWE Hall of Fame. It is my honor to induct my friend."

The Big Show will join Paul Heyman (Goldberg), Molly Holly (Ivory), Edge & Christian (The Dudley Boyz), Jimmy Hart (Hillbilly Jim), and Road Dogg Jesse James (Jeff Jarrett) as this year's people who will induct the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class.

What's next?

The Hall of Fame is just days away when it airs live on the WWE Network Friday, April 6th. It will kick off a loaded weekend including NXT Takeover and WrestleMania 34 from New Orleans.

Author's take

When you look at the 20+ year career of Mark Henry, it is absolutely fitting that Big Show is the person to induct him into the Hall of Fame. Big Show was arguably the biggest part of the second half of Henry's career, both as opponents and as allies.

The Big Show is one of my favorite people in the wrestling industry and I cannot wait to hear what he has to say about Mark on Friday.
