What’s the story?

Earlier this week, WWE reported the news that superstars from both Raw and Smackdown Live would appear on Monday Night Raw’s 25th Anniversary show.

It has been pretty much confirmed by the company that former WWF Champions Bret Hart, Ric Flair, and Mick Foley will all appear at the special show that is all set to take place next year. Smackdown superstars and former WWE World Champions AJ Styles and Randy Orton are also set to make an appearance, along with the current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

In case you didn’t know…

On 22nd January 2018, WWE’s flagship show Monday Night Raw will celebrate its 25th Anniversary at the Barclays Center and at The Manhattan Center. The show will take place from two different locations on the very same day.

The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and NWO originator Kevin Nash will also make an appearance at the show on January 22nd.

The heart of the matter

Earlier this week, the Barclays Center promoted clips which revealed that Hall of Famers Ric Flair, Bret Hart, and Mick Foley were all set to return to the WWE in order to celebrate 25 years of Monday Night Raw.

The Barclays Center also posted a picture on its official Twitter handle that clearly suggested that AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Jinder Mahal from Smackdown Live will also appear on the show in 2018. As of this writing, Raw superstars Braun Strowman, Asuka, and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss have also been confirmed to appear on the night.

On the other hand, the Raw Tag Team Champions—Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose — could possibly reunite with their Shield stablemate, Roman Reigns, as “The Big Dog” is also being advertised for the show.

What’s next?

As of right now, the two brands of Raw and Smackdown Live cannot look each other eye-to-eye as they are all set to wage war against each other at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Author’s take

Personally, I am excited to see what WWE does with so many legends and superstars who are all set to appear at the celebration. Raw’s 25th-anniversary show could possibly turn out to be a very entertaining show.
