What’s the story?

In an interview with the Express, Triple H opened up on a myriad of topics.

Addressing talk of the WWE planning on carefully monitoring Daniel Bryan’s matches from this point going forward, Triple H reiterated that the safety of the WWE Superstars is one of the company’s primary concerns. Besides, Triple H also recalled how Bryan kept working hard to make an in-ring return.

In case you didn’t know…

Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from in-ring competition in early 2016, owing to concussion issues and a brain lesion that was found in an area of his brain that causes seizures.

However, Bryan continued to work on his overall health, and visited several specialists all over the US, so as to seek their medical expertise in order to help him recover and make an in-ring comeback.

As a result, Bryan was recently cleared by the WWE’s doctors as well as other medical professionals, following which the WWE announced that Bryan will indeed be making his in-ring return.

The heart of the matter

Triple H elucidated that Daniel Bryan is cleared to return to the ring, and the WWE will absolutely keep an eye out on his health and safety. Triple H added that the health & well-being of WWE talent is the first and foremost responsibility of WWE, and the company always tries to do what’s best for maintaining the health of its Superstars.

Shortly after it was revealed that Bryan would now have to undergo 'Impact testing' and neuropsychological evaluation after every match he wrestles in the WWE, Triple H asserted that the WWE knew that Bryan was fighting tooth-and-nail to get back into the ring.

However, 'The Game' added that at the end of the day, the WWE listens to the best medical professionals in the world, and since they refused to clear Bryan over the past few years, the WWE had to oblige and have the latter retire.

Furthermore, Triple H explained how emotional the entire situation was for both the WWE and Bryan—

"And in some ways broke our hearts to have to tell Daniel that and (break) his heart…Like he said it was his dream and he would not quit his dream. He fought for it. Whether or not that fight would have been in vain, none of us knew, but over time he began to show us results that were totally different to (what) the medical professionals (showed previously) and it got to a point where he could return to action."

What’s next?

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are rumored to be competing against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th.

Although the aforementioned matchup is yet to be confirmed by the WWE, most experts believe that Bryan’s involvement in this year’s WrestleMania card will indeed come in the form of said Tag Team Match.
