The Miz has been one of the greatest success stories of Smackdown Live

What’s the story?

During a conference call recently, WWE Superstar and Executive Vince President for Talent, Live Events and Creative, Triple H, was full of praise for SmackDown Live Superstar The Miz and called him the best on the microphone in the WWE roster right now.

In case you didn't know...

The Miz was drafted to SmackDown Live after the most recent brand split and managed to reinvent his character, in turn, becoming the most hated heel on the brand’s roster. Carrying the Intercontinental Championship over many months, The Miz made the title feel relevant cutting scathing promos on the show and also on Talking Smack.

His rivalries with Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, John Cena and Nikki Bella have been entertaining, high-profile feuds indeed.

The heart of the matter

Triple H has observed the Miz's progress and growth from a mid carder to one of the top heels in the company. Not only did he praise The Awesome One’s work on the microphone, he added that he would be very surprised if The Miz wasn’t World Champion at the end of the year 2017.

It must be noted that The Miz has not been world champion since 2011.

What’s next?

As it stands now, The Miz and his wife Maryse will take on SmackDown Live Superstars John Cena and Nikki Bella at Wrestlemania in Orlando. The two heels have parodied many aspects of the relationship of the babyfaces through various skits and segments, and it is likely that with one week to go, the mockery will only rise in magnitude.

Author’s take

The Miz is definitely the most improved Superstar this year and deserves a title run for this alone. His work inside the ring has been significantly better executed as well.
