What's the story?

During his NXT conference call, Triple H addressed Kurt Angle's return to in-ring action stating that it was an ongoing process with the 'Olympic Gold Medalist' and that 'The Game' would absolutely love to step foot in the ring against Angle again.

In case you didn't know...

Kurt Angle returned to the ring last month during the WWE's Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view joining the Shield members Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in the 5 vs 3 main event match.

He is already due to wrestle again this weekend at Survivor Series as the captain of Team RAW alongside Triple H, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman against Shane McMahon's Team SmackDown LIVE.

Triple H joined the team in controversial fashion, replacing Angle's injured storyline son Jason Jordan on Team RAW and hitting him with a Pedigree for good measure to sew animosity between Angle and him already.

The heart of the matter

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter Twitter has been providing regular updates on Triple H's comments during the conference call, and first reported on how Angle's return to the ring is an ongoing process, and the WWE is supporting him every step of the way.

The next tweet then revealed that Triple H is keen to step foot in the ring against Kurt Angle again, which is what is widely expected to happen following the Survivor Series fallout.

One thing is for sure, Triple H and Kurt Angle teaming up at Survivor Series is one thing, but if Triple H and Kurt Angle do cross paths in the future against each other, it's sure to be a big occasion.

What's next?

As I previously mentioned Kurt Angle is in the midst of a storyline involving the McMahons that is reported to lead towards a huge Wrestlemania match, probably between himself and Triple H. How we get to that match isn't exactly known yet, but it's possible that Triple H could betray Kurt Angle at Survivor Series.

Author's take

You know what? I usually get frustrated by matches like this with two part-time guys taking up a match slot at Wrestlemania, but I'm actually a little excited to see how this all plays out. The WWE has been on somewhat of a roll recently so this could be brilliant.
