WWE News:  Update on Roman Reigns missing Monday Night Raw this week

The current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Roman Reigns...

What's the story?

It was reported last week that Roman Reigns was not advertised to appear on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw, and that was confirmed as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were forced to tag with Jason Jordan when they took on The Bar and Samoa Joe.

We can confirm that Roman Reigns is being advertised for the Christmas edition of Monday Night Raw next week based on the advertisement from the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

In case you didn't know...

The last time Christmas Night fell on a Monday was in 2006, and the WWE aired their Tribute To The Troops special from Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq. On this particular show, the results included John Cena defeated Edge, CM Punk defeated Shelton Benjamin, and The Undertaker defeating Johnny Nitro.

The heart of the matter

Not only will Reigns return to Raw on Christmas Night, but John Cena makes his return to Raw after a three-month absence as well.

It'll be interesting to see how things play out with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in their fight against The Bar and Samoa Joe after reports indicated that Dean Ambrose was seriously injured this week on Raw. While the backstage segment made the injury seem like a work, PWInsider confirmed that Ambrose did injure his arm and will travel to Birmingham, Alabama for a diagnosis.

What's next?

As previously mentioned, Monday Night Raw starts a two-night run for the WWE at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois starting with Christmas Night. Expect Reigns to look for revenge on Samoa Joe for what he did to Dean Ambrose.

Author's take

First off, I hope that Dean Ambrose is fine, but the injury looks serious. This injury dynamic will definitely alter the plans that WWE Creative had for The Shield going into the Road To WrestleMania.

It's been a long time since a regular episode of Raw has taken place on Christmas Night, and it seems like they're looking to make it a special show with John Cena returning, as well as Roman Reigns after the week absence.
