What's the story?

October 9th, 2017 would have been the WWE Superstar Eddie Guerrero's 50th birthday.

Vickie Guerrero, Eddie's wife, current WWE Superstar Sasha Banks, a big fan of Eddie's as a child, and many others commented on the occasion via Twitter today.

In case you didn't know...

Eddie Guerrero is one of the best WWE Superstars in history. He was a one-time WWE Champion, one-time US Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion and four-time Tag Team Champion. Guerrero also had very successful stints in WCW and ECW.

Fans loved Eddie for his charismatic ways, and how he would do anything to win his matches (Lie, Cheat and Steal).

Devastatingly, in November 2005, Eddie died at the young age of 38 due to acute heart failure.

The heart of the matter

Today is Eddie Guerrero's 50th birthday, and many people still took the time to think of him on this date:

Vickie Guerrero sent out a tweet a few hours ago wishing Eddie a happy birthday and saying that every day, Eddie is still adored and missed

Sasha Banks, present WWE Superstar and four-time Raw Women's Champion, was a huge Eddie Guerrero fan as a young girl, and she too wished Eddie a happy birthday earlier today, proclaiming that he would always be 'in our hearts'.

What's next?

In November, it will be the 12th anniversary of Eddie's death. For years to come, whether it is his birthday or anniversary, the WWE Universe will always remember Guerrero and the amazing things he did in sports entertainment.

Author's take

Eddie Guerrero's death was sad and affected wrestling fans and wrestlers. Eddie was truly one of a kind and there was no one better at connecting with fans, whether as a face or a heel, than him.

Guerrero always wanted to make his opponent look just as good a wrestler as he was and he always delivered in his unselfishness.
