WWE News: What happened after Raw, 18 July, 2016 went off air?

Sorry, Seth, but the video doesn’t lie

The means may have been dubious, but the end was befitting of a barnburner that will become a contender for “Match of the Year”. The “holy s***” chants that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins ejected from the Providence crowd would have been something much, much more vivid in an earlier era.

Seth Rollins left with the belt after Stephanie proclaimed him the new WWE Champion, but his ecstasy was short-lived. The footage was inspected and when it was found that both their shoulders were on the canvas, the referee ruled it a draw.

The title was restored to Dean Ambrose, enraging Rollins who attacked his former Shield comrade. The ever-resilient Ambrose countered it and hit the Dirty Deeds as the segment wound down.

WWE tweeted that Dean Ambrose will head into Battleground with the biggest belt in pro-wrestling:

The Lunatic Fringe will defend the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins and a returning Roman Reigns. ‘The guy’ will make his first appearance after his suspension at a live event on Saturday in Wildwoods, New Jersey.
