WWE News: What happened after RAW went off air?

Goldberg ends the night by celebrating with his son on the ramp

What’s the story?

Fan-expectation for the latest edition of Monday Night Raw was clearly very high before the show. However, after the broadcast, it’s clear that the go-home show of Raw before WrestleMania 33 didn’t live up to the high standards that the WWE Universe anticipated.

As the show went off-air, WWE doled out yet another dark segment to send off the fans, hoping to salvage as much as they can before WrestleMania 33. However, this time it was Goldberg who stayed back as the cameras kept rolling.

In case you didn’t know...

The Beast Brock Lesnar and Goldberg ended the night with an epic segment. Goldberg stood tall after delivering a devastating spear to Brock Lesnar outside and closed the show with huge momentum heading towards WrestleMania 33, where he defends his WWE Universal Championship.

Paul Heyman also made his presence felt in the main event with a scintillating promo on Goldberg on behalf of his client Brock Lesnar. Heyman worked his magic again by making the audience chant “Suplex City” within few moments of booing Brock and chanting Goldberg’s name.

The heart of the matter

Following the devastation he delivered to Brock Lesnar, Goldberg took centre stage in the dark segment where he hugged fans and celebrated his dominance over Brock Lesnar with his son. Goldberg and his son were on the ramp as they celebrated with the crowd to conclude the activities for the night.

It is to be noted that tonight was Goldberg’s last scheduled appearance on Raw before his current contract expires. It may be entirely possible that WWE wanted its Raw audience to partake in the end of Goldberg’s incredible second run and get their fix of Goldberg movement.

What next?

Goldberg will make one last appearance on WWE Programming before his current contract expires for good when he takes on Brock Lesnar, with his recently-acquired WWE Universal Championship on the line at WrestleMania 33.

As of now, it looks like Goldberg has Brock’s number heading into ‘Mania after two consecutive victories over The Beast. The main event at WrestleMania 33 will undoubtedly be a slugfest between two powerhouses and we can expect some great mark out moments during their match.

Author’s take

Considering that Goldberg’s contract expires this Sunday, we can easily assume that Brock will be going over Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. In all likelihood, Brock will walk out of the arena as WWE Universal Champion after claiming a victory over Goldberg.

It will be interesting to see, who WWE will put in his path. Considering his incredible resume, we can easily expect “The Beast Incarnate” to dominate WWE over the next few months.
