WWE News: 'Woken' Matt Hardy reveals his first target for 'Deletion'

Who does 'Woken' Matt Hardy want to 'delete' first?
Who does 'Woken' Matt Hardy want to 'delete' first?

What's the story?

On the past Monday Night RAW, Bray Wyatt defeated Matt Hardy with the Sister Abigail and after the match Matt Hardy seemed to have a breakdown in the ring. Now, it seems that Matt Hardy has become 'Woken' (or 'Broken' as it was known in TNA) and has set the 'Eater of Worlds' as his first target for deletion.

In case you didn't know...

A lot of stuff happened behind the scenes to allow Matt Hardy to bring the popular gimmick over to the WWE, mainly involving new owners of IMPACT wrestling dropping the legal battle over the rights to the 'Broken' gimmick and passing a policy that allows past and current talent to use their gimmicks outside of IMPACT wrestling.

The heart of the matter

It remains to be seen just how much the WWE will commit to Matt Hardy's incredibly random and ridiculous gimmick rebranded as 'Woken', but if his recent tweets are anything to go by, it looks like we're going to get a faithful recreation of the 'Broken' Matt Hardy that we all know and love, and he is first going to attempt to 'delete' Bray Wyatt.

As you can see from the tweet above, Hardy refers to himself as having 'White Magic' and Bray Wyatt as having 'Black Magic' so it would seem that Hardy is going to remain a babyface wrestler, whilst Wyatt will still be a heel.

What next?

There is speculation that Matt Hardy will successfully 'delete' Bray Wyatt's demon as he's promised to do in the tweet, and that this will lead to the Bray Wyatt face turn that many fans of his character truly believe he needs. Until then we just need to sit back and watch what two of the WWE's best 'characters' can accomplish in a programme together

Broken Matt vs. Wyatt has always been a dream feud and we hope WWE books it well.

Author's take

Personally I hope this leads to a zany tag-team between Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt as a pair of weirdly possessed dudes, until Jeff Hardy returns as 'Brother Nero' and tries to get Matt Hardy back on his side.
