From The WWE Rumor Mill: Queen Rebecca will soon join ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy

BROKEN Family

What's the story?

Matt Hardy has teased a possible return of Reby Hardy (Queen Rebecca) during his conversation with a fan on Tweeter.

In case you didn't know...

Back in 2016, Matt Hardy came up with a new Broken gimmick in which he changed his usual character and style of speech. The Broken family had his brother Jeff as Brother Nero, his wife as Queen Rebecca, his son as King Maxel and his Father-in-law as Senor Benjamin. The gimmick got insanely over and led to some of the most memorable moments.

Since their return to WWE at WrestleMania 34, they were not able to use the gimmick due to legal issues with Impact's parent company Anthem. After a lengthy battle, Matt won back the rights to the gimmick and rebranded it as the Woken gimmick.

The heart of the matter

Hardy responded to a fan on Tweeter when asked about his wife joining him again on WWE playing the piano for his entrance.:

The tweet indicates that Reby hardy is also on her way to WWE. Woken Matt even debuted his new theme song with a piano base at the live event at MSG which furthers solidifies this.

Looks like Vince McMahon is going all in with an already established gimmick and has given Matt the creative freedom to run with it. This will surely make the gimmick more interesting and could lead to some WONDERFUL storylines.

What's next?

The Woken Universe is incomplete without Brother Nero, Queen Rebecca, King Maxel and Senor Benjamin, but the seeds are already planted and we might see the entire family soon in WWE.

Jeff Hardy is out of action and still recovering from surgery. A change in character is exactly what is needed for Matt to stand out as a singles competitor and can become the most popular thing in WWE.

Author's take

The WOKEN Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt is turning out to be quite an interesting feud. Let's hope WWE can surprise us by bringing back the BROKEN family too while the feud is on. Imagine the BROKEN Universe with WWE's budget - DELIGHTFUL!
