WWE News: WWE confirms The Undertaker's return for Smackdown 900
Early yesterday, Mohegan Sun Arena, Pensylvania, where the November 15th edition of Smackdown Live will take place, confirmed on social media that The Undertaker would be returning to Smackdown for the 900th episode on November 15th.
It is not confirmed what role The Phenom will play on Smackdown 900, but it is rumoured that he will assist his half-brother Kane, in his battle against The Wyatt Family and their newest recruit, Randy Orton.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that a possible reason Orton joined The Wyatt family in the first place was so he could be a potential Wrestlemania opponent; and that he is one of the safest workers for The Undertaker.
Regardless, Undertaker is still rumoured to face John Cena at Wrestlemania, but plans could always change depending on circumstance.
Aside from just being one of the major flag-bearers of Smackdown, during the Ruthless Aggression Era and a short portion of the PG Era, one of the things The Phenom is synonymous for is Survivor Series; where he debuted 26 years go. Last year’s Survivor Series was themed around The Undertaker’s 25 years in the business.
He participated in the event, teaming up with Kane to take on The Wyatt Family.
The Brothers of Destruction prevailed over The Wyatt Family. This may not just be The Phenom’s last appearance on the blue brand because it depends on who he faces, next year at Wrestlemania. As of now, it seems like his opponent may be from Smackdown Live, so this most likely won’t be the last we see of him on his home turf of Smackdown.
The Brothers of Destruction returned together for the first time in years last year on Raw:
They appeared on Smackdown as well the following week, just not in person:
