What’s the story?

The WWE has crafted a special video on the eve of India’s Republic Day.

Several top WWE Superstars including reigning WWE Champion AJ Styles wished the WWE Universe in India a Happy Republic Day.

In case you didn’t know…

The current draft of the Constitution of India was adopted on 26th January 1950. The 26th of January is thereby celebrated as one of India’s most important days of the year. WWE recently toured India and had a spectacular show featuring Jinder Mahal vs Triple H as the main event.

The WWE officially launched the WWE Shop in India during Wrestlemania 33 in April of last year, besides also witnessing the first-ever WWE Champion of Indian descent in Jinder Mahal hold the prestigious title for several months in 2017.

The heart of the matter

With the WWE continuing to expand its global fan-base, Indi being one of its key markets, the promotion has been giving an increasing level of importance to the WWE Universe in India.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, WWE Champion AJ Styles, The New Day (Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston & Big E), Cruiserweight competitor Drew Gulak, and WWE icon John Cena wished India a Happy Republic Day. Here’s what Cena had to say on the eve of the special day—

“Hello, WWE Universe in India. This is me, 16-time Champion John Cena, wishing you Happy Republic Day. Cherish the day and wear your colours with pride.”

What’s next?

India celebrates Republic Day on January 26th, with the millions and millions of fans in India and the world over eagerly anticipating the WWE’s Royal Rumble PPV event.

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28th.

Kudos to the WWE for acknowledging their loyal fan-base here in India. The WWE enjoys a huge following all around the world and in today’s day and age of excellent social media and telecommunication, the world is now closer than ever.
