What's the story?
Not long ago, it was announced that Hulk Hogan would be the subject of a biopic on Netflix. The Iron Sheik wanted to play himself in the movie.
Sheik has now threatened the actor of the movie, Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth will also serve as the producer of the film with Hogan and Eric Bischoff.
In case you didn't know...
The Iron Sheik is one of the last remaining characters in professional wrestling. He is known to be outspoken on Twitter and if you don't follow his account, you're really missing out on some hilarious comments.
The Iron Sheik portrayed a foreign heel during the 80s and his Championship loss to Hulk Hogan is considered to be the beginning of what is Hulkamania. Of course, he would have a very important role in the biopic.
The biopic has been announced at a time when Bohemian Rhapsody, a film based on rock band Queen's frontman, Freddie Mercury's life, is racking up all of the awards and 'Fighting with my family', a movie based on Paige's life is receiving rave reviews too.
The heart of the matter
Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that the Iron Sheik wants to play himself in the Hulk Hogan biopic. The Sheik retweeted the post and added a threat to Chris Hemsworth as well:
It will be very difficult for The Iron Sheik to be cast in the film, as the movie deals primarily with the rise of Hulkamania in the 80s. And therefore, one must assume that there's very little chance that he'll even play a cameo.
What's next?
Hulk Hogan has made amends with the company after uttering racial slurs in a leaked private video. One wonders what the reception to this movie will be because many people were antagonized after his comments. But the people involved in the film seem to know what they're doing, so the biopic should be good.
