WWE News: WWE interested in Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay and Ricochet stole the show at NJPW

Now that the brand split is on the horizon, WWE is taking an initiative to sign new talents from all over the world. Recently, the WWE had approached the land of the Rising Sun to scoop up Shinsuke Nakamura.

He won’t be the only one though as Allwrestlingnews.com reports that Will Ospreay may add to the list of NJPW talents who have been signed by the WWE as the company is interested in having him in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic Tournament.

Will Ospreay shot to stardom after his mind-blowing match with Ricochet at NJPW, that gained worldwide popularity. The duo put on a jaw-dropping performance that left the Japanese crowd chanting ‘this is awesome”.

The match was highly praised by many but also faced criticism from some quarters. WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin credited the match by calling it "phenomenal" and "a spectacle".

But on the contrary, former WCW and IWGP champion Big Van Vader has openly criticized it over twitter, stating that the match resembled a sequence of a “memorized gymnastics routine.”
