What’s the story?
The WWE has confirmed on its official website WWE.com, that David Otunga will be off WWE TV for the next few weeks in order to fulfill his movie obligations and will be temporarily replaced during his absence.
In case you didn’t know...
Otunga is a former WWE tag-team champion who has served as a color commentator for the company since his retirement in 2015.
The heart of the matter
Ortunga has been cast as the lead in an action film titled Katrina. Furthermore, the report on WWE.com also stated that he will be temproraily replaced on the RAW broadcasting team during his 6-week absence.
However, the promotion has not specified a name as of the time of this writing. The 37-year old lawyer and broadcaster, who had been working as a color commentator on SmackDown Live since July of last year, has been drafted to Monday Night RAW in exchange of fellow-commentator Byron Saxton during the WWE Superstar Shake-Up this week.

What’s next?
Otunga is expected to resume his commentary duties after he finishes filming his scenes for the movie. WWE will reveal the details of said movie in the weeks to come. In his absence, a third commentator is expected to join Michael Cole and Corey Graves on the Monday Night RAW commentary team next week.

David Otunga has appeared in several movies and television shows since making his TV debut in I Love New York 2, back in 2007. He has since, worked in Celebrity Ghost Stories, General Hospital, Criminal Minds and movies like The Call to name a few.
For those of you who’ve forgotten, David is engaged to a famous singer and actress who goes by the name Jennifer Hudson- a woman who Otunga’s WWE co-workers have referred to as his ‘famous wife’ in the past.
Besides, Hollywood isn’t a big deal for our WWE Superstars, with the reigning king of the film-industry being none other than WWE legend The Rock.
