What’s the story?
WWE’s current United Kingdom tour has seen the company perform in Belfast, during which a few of its performers decided to display a sing-and-dance about their tight pants in a fun, entertaining video.
The context
WWE kicked off their first annual UK tour in Glasgow, Scotland, on May 4th, and will see it through until May 12th, in Newcastle, England. On their stop in Belfast, Northern Ireland, five Superstars, namely, Maryse, The Miz, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss and Titus O’Neil, collaborated for a sing-and-dance to the Tight Pants Song, which is a product of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The video was uploaded to WWE’s Instagram page for the world to watch (and laugh at).
The heart of the matter
The video sees Maryse enter first, followed by a shirtless Miz, both from the right, while Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax come in from the left. Titus O’Neil enters from the back, and it looks like this is clearly a result of some backstage practice.
They sing along with each other, talking about their “tight pants” (despite Titus not actually wearing any pants), and then there are solos from everyone, with Maryse and Titus in the frame and The Miz going from right to left, Alexa Bliss going left to right, and Nia Jax finishing up. Author’s take
Not only is this video a great laugh, but WWE sharing this on its Instagram page is a great way to have fans see the more human side of its wrestlers, and to see that they genuinely have a great time with each other backstage.
Perhaps we could see more of the crazy antics WWE’s Superstars are up to in their spare time if this video receives significantly positive feedback. Despite the fact that this is completely ignoring kayfabe, there’s nothing wrong with a little messing around every now and then, especially considering how kayfabe has almost been dead for a long time now. WWE’s got some great dancers!
