What's the story?

WWE SmackDown Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura has stated that he wanted to wrestle Kurt Angle again.

Nakamura commented on Angle's recent Instagram post, expressing his desire to wrestle him one more time.

In case you didn't know...

Kurt Angle had recently announced that he was going to retire after WrestleMania, with his final match taking place at the Show of Shows. Last night on Raw, Angle revealed his opponent for Mania: Baron Corbin.

The reveal was met with a ridiculously mild reaction and it was clear that WWE had made a huge mistake with this storyline. Angle went on to defeat Chad Gable by applying his patented Ankle Lock on the rookie.

This announcement caused a social media storm, as fans were irate on finding out that Corbin of all people was going to be Angle's final opponent.

The heart of the matter

Angle posted a Spiderman meme on Instagram, comparing Chad Gable with himself, and proceeding to heap praises upon him.

Shinsuke Nakamura, who had wrestled Angle way back in IWGP, chimed in and made a comment expressing his desire to wrestle Angle again. The duo had an incredible match in Japan more than a decade ago, for the IWGP Heavyweight championship.

Although Angle is yet to respond to Nakamura, it's safe to say that we're way past any hopes of seeing these two get in the ring against each other again.

What's next?

With the WWE Universe being disgruntled at WWE's booking of Angle for his farewell match, there's a slight possibility that Corbin could get replaced by a better option.

Until then, we're stuck with these two former Raw GMs going at it at the Show of Shows. It's scary to imagine what would be the reaction of the live crowd on watching Corbin compete in a marquee matchup at MetLife Stadium.
