WWE is all set to host their 30th annual Survivor Series show, later this week in Dallas, Texas and Vince McMahon and his creative team have lined up one of the most appealing match cards in Survivor Series history.

The match card for this Sunday will feature several champion vs. champion matches and also will witness two mega Survivor Series traditional tag team matches between Team Raw and Team Smackdown Live.

Legendary superstars such as Kurt Angle, Triple H, Shane McMahon, John Cena and many others are all scheduled to wrestle at Survivor Series.

The heart of the matter

Earlier this week, WWE interviewed nine different superstars from both brands of Raw and Smackdown. The WWE.com interview, featured Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Shelton Benjamin, Nia Jax, Jinder Mahal and Matt Hardy.

Team Braun Strowman:

Despite not having any allies on-screen, Braun Strowman decided to choose four former World Champions as part of his Survivor Series dream team.

“The Monster among Men” stated that he would like to team up with his long-term rival Roman Reigns who he believes will give his all inside the ring in order to win. The second pick on his team was The Big Show—with whom he had a series of matches earlier this year, the legendary Undertaker got the third spot due on The Monster’s team, and the final spot went to Strowman’s former Wyatt Family stablemate Bray Wyatt.

Nia Jax’s first two picks were two legendary WWE superstars, Andre the Giant and her real-life cousin The Rock. Jax said that it would be pretty cool for her to witness those two men wanting to help her during a match.

Nia would also include two-time former WWE Women’s Champion Bull Nakano and the current WWE Raw Women’s Champion and Nia’s best friend Alexa Bliss, who she thinks is bossy and likes to be in charge.

Finn Balor’s team comprises of four men with whom he had a lot of history with, and for his first pick, Balor recruited his TLC opponent AJ Styles and his Bullet Club predecessor—whom he defeated last month in a brutal match.

The former Universal Champion then added former Raw Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows— with whom he has a strong relationship with due to his previous association with them in the Bullet Club. Balor’ final pick went to “The King of Kings” Triple H; Finn Balor claimed that Triple H is an inspiration to him and he has learned a lot from the former 14 time World Champion, during his [Balor’s] NXT days.

Matt Hardy shaped up his team by picking three former World Champions and WWE Hall of Famers; Bret “The Hitman” Hart, followed up by Hart’s biggest rival and former D-Generation X member Shawn Michaels, and Macho Man Randy Savage who was the third pick for the former Raw Tag Team Champion. As for his final pick, Matt chose his brother Jeff Hardy.

Jason Jordan picked four of his childhood idols for his Survivor Series dream team. Jordan’s team started off with his all-time favourite The Ultimate Warrior, followed by former Intercontinental Champion Mr Perfect, and Scott Steiner— who he thinks should bring Rick Steiner along with him for moral support. Jordan’s final team pick was his on-screen father Kurt Angle, who he believes will solidify his team for the win.

What’ next?

However, despite picking their dream teams, some of these superstars will now have to gear up and get ready for this Sunday’s Survivor Series which take place at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Author’s take

I think some of these teams are perfectly lined up and there is also a strong possibility for some of these superstars to actually team up with each other. Personally, I would like to see Finn Balor’s unit come true in real life which will also bring along a possible Bullet Club reunion in the WWE.
