WWE News: WWE tease Charlotte Flair vs Michelle McCool match

Who would
Who would win this match?

What's the story?

Michelle McCool was one of the top members of the WWE women's roster during her time with the company. She was the first-ever WWE Diva's Champion and went on to hold more titles and achieve accolades back in a time where the women on the roster were lucky to get five minutes on a show including their entrances.

But Charlotte Flair is enjoying the midst of the WWE Women's Revolution and recently threw out a challenge to The Undertaker's wife.

In case you didn't know

She was a trailblazer, a money maker, and absolutely Flawless, but Michelle McCool parted ways with WWE in 2011. If you'd like to know more about what led to this challenge you can find that info here but let's just say that McCool has a wrestling ring in her home that she shares with her husband and shoo-in WWE Hall Of Famer, The Undertaker.

Charlotte Flair is always looking to make a bigger name for herself and arrange high-profile matches. This is one of the reasons why the Ronda Rousey deal might turn out to be so big for The Nature Girl because she's rumoured to be considered for a possible one-on-one encounter with Rousey down the line.

But a match against at returning Michelle McCool would be pretty stellar as well and Flair obviously realises this.

The heart of the matter

This feud started on social media it seems like more and more feuds are beginning that way lately. WWE has made this back-and-forth somewhat official as Cathy Kelley covered the issue in-depth in a viral update for "WWE Now."

Of course, this kind of update might just be an attempt to engage the WWE Universe. But it's still interesting they're acknowledging this challenge. After all, McCool ended her side by saying she's waiting by the phone for WWE to give her a call.

What's next?

If WWE's hype machine gets behind this feud and the feedback is large enough, WWE might be making Michelle McCool's phone ring soon enough.

Author's take

It would be a pretty cool event if she came back, of course, but it probably wouldn't be full-time by any means. Michelle McCool meant a lot to the genesis of the WWE Women's Revolution and it would be great to see her get her proper recognition.
