The heart of the matter

Stephanie McMahon was interviewed by TMZ ahead of WrestleMania 35. During the interview, Stephanie was asked about the possibility of WWE signing the likes of Conor McGregor and Rob Gronkowski and McMahon did not rule it out. She said that she would love to have both McGregor and Gronkowski signed to the WWE:

"Who would I love to have in WWE? I think, truly, the sky's the limit and anybody who has a big personality. I'd love to have Gronk in the ring. I'd love to have Conor McGregor - huge personality. There's a number of different women I've had my eyes on as well. So it's really about bringing in the biggest personalities with the best athletic ability - whoever can entertain and connect to our audience."

The interviewer followed up by asking Stephanie McMahon if the WWE had already held talks with any of the names she mentioned. McMahon hinted that there were indeed talks that had happened:

"We are always having conversations."

If Conor McGregor does sign with WWE someday, he will be following in the shoes of Ronda Rousey who made the switch from MMA to pro wrestling as a fish takes to water. Rousey will be making history at WrestleMania 35 as one of the first women to headline a WrestleMania.
