What’s the story?

Former WWE Superstar Sean Waltman aka X-Pac recently gave his thoughts on the recent WWE releases of Emma, Summer Rae, and Darren Young.

The former WWF Tag Team Champion also commented on NXT superstar Lio Rush’s recent controversial tweet towards Emma, which has brought a lot of heat for the 22-year-old.

In case you didn’t know…

X-Pac is a former WWE Superstar who wrestled for Vince McMahon’s company from 1993-1996 before eventually making a return in 1998.

During his WWE tenure, Waltman won many championships such as the WWF European Title, the Light Heavyweight Title, and is also a former WWF Tag Team Champion. During his WWE stint, he was a member of the ever popular D-Generation X faction.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, WWE has recently released Emma, Summer Rae, and former WWE Tag Team Champion Darren Young from the company.

NXT’s brand new signing Lio Rush, however, tweeted out by saying that the reason Emma got fired is that she wasn’t ready for Asuka—who made her main roster debut against the Aussie superstar at TLC.

The heart of the matter

Former WWE European Champion X-Pac recently gave his take on the releases of the three Superstars from the company and also responded to Lio Rush’s tweet.

Waltman said that he understands the reason why Summer was released but on the other hand, he thinks that he would have liked to see Darren Young get an opportunity and have some matches. Waltman, then added that Young is someone who can easily get booked in the independent scene but that is a decision which is completely up to him.

Waltman then weighed in on Emma’s release and said that she is one of the most hard-working wrestlers today and works her butt off. The former tag team champion stated that he is disappointed regarding Emma’s release but believes that she will do fine for herself and will get more opportunities down the road.

Waltman said Rush’s tweet was a ‘bummer’ and did not realise that the NXT Superstar was criticised for it. But Waltman also thinks that the backlash should be the end of it and there shouldn’t be any more discussion regarding this topic anymore.

“All this backlash should be the end of it, that should the consequence and that’s it,” Waltman stated.

What’s next?

As far as Emma and Darren Young are concerned, it will be interesting to see where they end up next. Chances are that both of them will wrestle in the independent scene in the near future.

As far as Lio Rush is concerned, it looks like his future in the WWE is safe for the time being, but he has surely brought a lot of heat on himself due to this controversial tweet.

Author’s Take

Personally, I agree with X-Pac here and believe that both Young and Emma will be given a chance to shine outside of WWE and they shouldn’t be downcast after being released by the WWE.

On the other hand, I think Lio Rush will also be just fine in NXT and can be a huge star in the future if he does not make these type of silly mistakes again.
