Backstage, Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez are interviewed regarding the events of NXT TakeOver: Portland and Gonzalez explained why she had attacked Tegan Nox. General Manager William Regal then made his presence felt and announced a Steel Cage match between Kai and Nox in two weeks.

Austin Theory came out for a match but the segment got interrupted by Tommaso Ciampa. The Blackheart asked Theory to stay out and went on to talk about the betrayal from Johnny Gargano. The up and coming NXT Superstar would try to cut in but 'The Pyschokiller' Tommaso Ciampa didn't allow any of that. He decimated Austin Theory and in the process, sent a message to his former #DIY mate.

A vignette aired featuring Finn Balor, where the former WWE Universal Champion announced that he will reveal his plans on the following episode of NXT.


Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) [Tag Team match]

James Drake and Wilde squared off to start the match. After going back-and-forth, Mendoza got the upper hand but the Grizzled Young Veterans' tag team prowess was too good to overcome. In the end, Mendoza fell victim to the Ticket to Mayhem and it allowed James Drake and Zack Gibson to pick up the win.

Result: Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde

Match ratings: B

Post-match, Drake, and Gibson cut a promo and revealed their aim of becoming the no. 1 tag team of the Black and Gold brand



The brand new NXT Tag Team Champions, BROserweights, made their way out and they looked to be in a celebratory mood. As they were discussing their win at TakeOver: Portland, they got interrupted by Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, setting up the tag team match.

Pete Dunne and Danny Burch locked horns to kick off the action. Lorcan and Riddle also got into a hard-hitting altercation and before going to the commercial, it was the NXT Tag Team Champions who had the upper hand.

However, the scenario changed post-commercial and The King of Bros ended up being locked in a crossface. He somehow managed to get out of it and with some aid from Dunne, they retaliated pretty well. Their tandem finish allowed them to pick up the win and continue their winning streak on NXT.

Result: BROserweights defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch

Following the conclusion of the match, Matt Riddle and Dunne joined the NXT Universe in attendance to celebrate their victory.
