Finn Balor cut a pre-taped promo. He said that Adam Cole is definitely Undisputed, but there's only one Prince. Balor has been asked many questions. In his first run as NXT Champion, it was all about building the brand. Now, it's about Finn Balor.

Austin Theory came out and called himself a guaranteed first-ballot WWE Hall of Famer. Last week on NXT, Bronson Reed got a fluke win. This week it'll be different, and he's here to prove himself against anyone.

Who was his surprise opponent? The Time Splitter himself, Kushida.

Austin Theory vs Kushida on NXT

Before the bell even rang, Kushida rocked Theory with an Enziguri. Theory struggled to shake Kushida, as the master technician immediately went for the arm.

Theory was able to create some space with a stun gun on the ropes, following up with a clothesilne. A snap suplex earned him a one-count. Kushida managed to avoid a standing moonsault, though, and caught Theory with a hip toss into a dropkick, sending him to the floor with a handspring double kick on the apron.

Theory went to punch Kushida, but missed and hit the ring post. Kushida targeted that arm, dropping him with an arm breaker on the floor. Back inside, he trapped Theory in the Hoverboard Lock for the win.

Results: Kushida defeated Austin Theory via submission on NXT.
