NXT TakeOver: Chicago came to us from the All-State Arena in Chicago, IL. 4 titles were defended tonight including every NXT title plus the WWE UK Championship as we got one of the best NXT TakeOvers of all time.

Eric Young vs Roderick Strong

Eric Young came out first accompanied by SanitY. He was followed out by Roderick Strong who came out from backstage and ambushed Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe before taking the fight to a surprised Eric Young who looked taken aback.

Strong was all over Young in the opening stages as he swept Young off his feet while the latter was on the apron. As the referee turned away, Killian Dain hit Roderick Strong with a running crossbody to help Young take back control. EY then headed to the middle rope and lifted Strong by the neck in a guillotine position as he looked to make Roddy pay.

Young continued to dissect Roddy as he used the middle rope as a weapon, choking Strong against it. He followed it up with a claw hold to Strong's finger but Roddy made his way back to his feet only to be taken back down with a clothesline. EY headed to the middle rope and went for a double-axehandle as Roddy met him with a dropkick to change the momentum.

Roddy followed up the dropkick with a trademark backbreaker followed by a running knee strike in the corner. He followed it up with an inverted exploder suplex as Young rolled out to ringside. As Strong followed him out, Young hit him with the Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker. He then rolled Strong back in and covered him for a nearfall.

As Young headed to the top rope, Strong tried to meet him on the top turnbuckle only for Young to knock him off and hit the elbow drop. Young then tried to finish Roddy with a Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker but Roddy escaped. He then took out Killian Dain and Wolfe who tried to intervene before looking for an Angle Slam only for Young to rake the eyes. Young then headed to the top rope but Roddy caught him with a jumping knee strike which sent him crashing into Wolfe and Dain at ringside. Roddy then rolled Young back into the ring and hit a release vertical suplex into a backstabber to pick up the win.

Tyler Bate (C) vs Pete Dunne (for the WWE UK Championship)

Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne faced each other once again over the WWE UK Championship. The duo started off at a brisk pace trading locks and holds, showing off a bit of the technical British style of wrestling.

Dunne then had Bate's arm in a Hammerlock, only for Bate to acrobatically get out of it and hit Dunne with a dropkick that sent him rolling out of the ring. The fans exploded as Bate stood tall in the ring.

Dunne came back in and took control as he hit Bate with a high-angle suplex. Dunne followed it up with kicks but Bate replied. With Dunne in the corner, Bate hit a couple of running European uppercut. As Bate went for a third, Dunner hit a running enzeguiri. Dunne then went for a release vertical suplex but Bate landed on his feet and hit a running shooting star press.enzeguiri. The match went back and forth as Dunner locked in a Triangle. Bate deadlifted Dunne in response and hit a Powerbomb.Bate followed it up with the classic Airplane spin as the fans roared in appreciation. Bate then looked for a crossbody from the middle rope but Dunne met him with a forearm. The two men traded strikes as they made their way back to their feet. Bate then hit the rolling kick and Dunne replied with a running enzeguiri. Bate then bounced off the rope off his head and clotheslined Dunne off his feet for a nearfall.

Chants of “fight forever” broke out as Bate looked to hit the Tyler Driver 97. Dunne broke out of it and looked for the Bitter End but Bate reversed it and hit a Tornado DDT. Dunne rolled out to ringside and Bate hit him with a moonsault before heading to the top rope and hitting a corkscrew Swanton Bomb. Pete Dunne kicked out again.

As Dunne recovered at ringside, Bate went to hit him with an over-the-top-rope dive bu he didn't catch all of it. Dunne rolled Bate into the ring and hit him with the Bitter End to pick up the win.

An amazing match. Dunne may be the winner but we can't take anything away from Tyler Bate. This match stole the show.

Asuka (C) vs Ruby Riot vs Nikki Cross (for the NXT Women's Championship)

Nikki Cross immediately took down Ruby Riot as the match began. Asuka then attacked Cross and took her down. She then hit a hip attack and tossed Cross out of the ring before Ruby Riot came back into the ring.

Ruby tossed Asuka out to ringside before looking for a suicide dive. Cross met her with a clothesline and the two women brawled out to ringside. Ruby hit Asuka with a crossbody before Cross took back control.

Cross took down Riot after which Asuka hit her with a missile dropkick. Asuka then locked in an Ankle Lock on Ruby Riot which Nikki Cross broke up. Ruby then tried to roll Asuka up but unsuccessfully.

Riot then hit Asuka with a hurracanrana from the top rope before sending Cross headfirst into the turnbuckle. Following this, Nikki Cross looked to hit Asuka with a crossbody but Asuka hit her with a knee-strike. Riot hit Asuka with a suicide dive before rolling Cross back into the ring nad hitting a senton from the top rope.

Ruby Riot then went for the pin but Asuka hit her with a German Suplex. Riot then headed to the top rope but Asuka locked in the Asuka lock on Riot as she came down. Cross broke it up and saved the day for the time being. She had Riot in place on the apron and hit an underhook DDT. As Asuka looked to hit her with a baseball slide, she pulled up the apron and trapped Asuka and hit her with repeated right hands.

Cross then took Asuka to the corner and hit her with a high-angle neckbreaker. Ruby Riot broke up the ensuing cover before Riot and Cross collided in midair with crossbody attempts. The two women then clotheslined Asuka out of the ring before going at each other.

Cross went to hit the Fisherman Neckbreaker but Riot blocked it and hit the side, Pelle Kick. As she went for the cover, Asuka came in and hit her with a running knee strike before pinning both women at the same time.

Bobby Roode (C) vs Hideo Itami (for the NXT Championship)

Bobby Roode started the match off confidently, if not overconfident. As he showed off for Itami in the early stages, Itami immediately went for a GTS. Roode broke out and was taken aback. He ran out of the ring to regroup.

When he came back in, Itami hit him with multiple strikes and knees. He then teased the stomp before slapping Roode across the face with his boot. Itami then went for a tornado DDT from the top rope, only for Roode to toss him off the rope. Roode followed it up with a neckbreaker from the top-rope.

Roode then locked in a chinlock. When Itami got back to his feet, Roode looked to hit a neckbreaker. Itami blocked it, got back to his feet, and slapped Roode across the face. Roode kicked Itami back but the former-KENTA hit back with a running boot. He followed it up with a suplex before hitting a tornado DDT into the top rope.chinlock. Itami looked to hit the GTS but Roode blocked it before charging towards Itami who sidestepped him – sending Roode crashing into the turnbuckle. Itami followed it up with stiff kicks to the chest before looking for a superplex. Roode knocked Itami off but missed his attempted Blockbuster. Itami replied with a Falcon Arrow.superplex. Roode hit back with a spinebuster for a nearfall. He then looked to hit the Implant DDT but his shoulder gave way as Itami looked to capitalize with the GTS. Roode held on to the ropes and hit Itami with a stun gun as action spilled to ringside. Itami Irish-Whipped Roode into the steel steps after which Itami missed a dropkick and ended up dropkicking the steel steps by mistake and looked to favour his ankle.spinebuster for a nearfall. He then looked to hit the Implant DDT but his shoulder gave way as Itami looked to capitalize with the GTS. Roode held on to the ropes and hit Itami with a stun gun as action spilled to ringside. The two men slowly made it back into the ring and they traded strikes before Itami took Roode down with a combo of strikes. He followed it up with the dropkick in the corner. Roode then blocked the GTS and hit the Implant DDT out of nowhere, but it was only a 2 count.

Itami replied with a GTS after this but Roode rolled out of the ring after the move. By the time Itami got him back into the ring and pinned him, Roode kicked out. Itami replied with a number of stiff strikes after this after which he looked for another GTS. Roode, however, reversed it and hit two successive Implant DDTs to pin Hideo Itami.

Authors of Pain (C) vs #DIY (for the NXT Tag-Team Championships)

DIY attacked the Authors as soon as the match began. They looked to bring out ladders early but Akum and Rayzar soon showed their superiority in strength as they tossed Gargano and Ciampa into the barricades.

DIY fought back against their larger opponents as they looked to bring the ladder from the entrance ramp into the ring. As one of the Authors tried to intervene, Gargano hit him with a suicide dive through the ladder.

With the ladder finally set up in the ring, Rayzar looked to climb the ladder only for Ciampa to get another ladder and smash him with it. As the Authors got back to their feet, Gargano and Ciampa launched anther ladder into their backs. The Authors rallied and went for a Super Collider only for Gargano and Ciampa to try to use the chance to climb the ladder. The Authors realised what was happening and they stopped it in time.

The Authors pinned Ciampa into the corner with a ladder. They then thought of climbing the ladder again when they saw Gargano and Ciampa stirring again. And instead ran through them with a ladder.

The Authors then set up ladders using the apron and the barricade. As Akum and Rayzar tried to powerbomb Gargano and Ciampa through it, they hit back and set up their opponents on it. Then they climbed a third ladder and leapt off it, sacrificing their bodies to take out the Authors.

Ciampa and one of the Authors looked to climb the ladder in the middle of the ring as Gargano set up another ladder. Ciampa took down one of the ladders as Gargano was left the last man standing in the ring. The belts were at his mercy when Paul Ellering interfered. Gargano hit him with a superkick for his troubles but Ellering had done enough.

The Authors fought their way back and they had Ciampa at their mercy. They looked to smash him in the face with a ladder but Gargano sacrificed himself for his partner as the Authors smashed him in the face. As Akum climbed the ladder, Ciampa German Suplexed him into another ladder.

Ciampa and Gargano then hit Rayzar with the running knee/superkick combo. Gargano and Ciampa climbed the ladder once again and as they looked like it was finally their time, The Authors knocked the ladders out from under them and hit them with the Super Collider.

Akum and Rayzar finally climbed the ladder and got the titles. An amazing main-event to cap off another excellent TakeOver.

After the match, as DIY were on the ramp and about to leave the arena, Ciampa turned on Gargano and viciously attacked him. He slammed Gargano against the LED board on the entrance ramp before hitting him with a running knee. Gargano looked like he was in a state of disbelief as he tried to make sense of his best friend attacking him. The crowd hurled abuse at Ciampa as he hit Gargano with a White Noise off the announcer’s table and onto two tables set up near the entrance ramp.
