Monday Night RAW has been conspicuous by the absence of former WWE Divas Champion Paige.
The 23-year-old Diva, in an interview with Channel Guide Magazine, revealed that she has been off TV due to a concussion that she suffered during one of her matches. She also praised the NXT Women’s Champion Bayley apart from talking about how she views the current Divas landscape.
Reason behind the concussion and when she’ll be back
Concussions are a wrestlers nightmare – as Daniel Bryan would tell you very well – and WWE has a great wellness policy that ensures speedy rehabilitation.
Paige asserted this very fact and said,”I took a bad bump in one of my matches. WWE has been absolutely great with the wellness program and wanting to make sure I’m back on my feet and completely healthy before getting back in the ring again.”
She said that the time off gets to her at times, which leads to the Diva losing her mind at times about not being able to compete. She hasn’t even left the house the past few weeks, which is torture for anybody, let alone a wrestler.
“I do go to the PC (WWE Performance Center) and get back in the ring there and see the doctors to make sure I’m a good kid and taking as much ImPACT tests as I possibly can,” Paige said.
When asked about her impending return to in-ring action, she said that WWE’s parental and protective approach towards their employees ensures she gets back soon.
“I hope to get back in the ring soon. It’s just a slight concussion. No big deal. Not a crazy one, but WWE is obviously very protective of their talent. I’m like, ‘I’m fine. I promise.’ They’re like, ‘No, we have to make sure you are 100 percent.’ They are like parents,” The two-time Divas Champion said.

Paige spoke very highly of the current standout in the women’s division down at NXT, even going to the lengths to term Bayley as her dream girl.
By ranking Bayley as the best wrestler Paige has ever seen, she said,”he was so good to see. I was getting stretched out by the doc and she sat with me for a good 45 minutes just seeing how I was. She is such a good person. I feel like she will hopefully be called up really soon.”
