WWE has this wicked habit of pushing a superstar to the moon and then dragging him right back down to the pit. There have been a lot of instances of the same and if they are going to let Neville pick the same path, then King Barrett will get a clean win at Payback.
The result will be mean in complete destruction of the momentum that Neville has built up till now. He has been sharing the limelight with former world champions till now and has made a name for himself in the process. A clean win might put King Barrett over as a good contender for the Intercontinental Championship but it will definetly bury Neville unless WWE has some miracle in store for him.
Neville on the way to Intercontinental Championship
As mentioned earlier, Neville is one of the front runners to be the new Intercontinental Champion after Daniel Bryan decided to vacate the title. His incredible run in the main roster so far is responsible for Neville’s name being in the mix and he thoroughly deserves to win the title as well.
We might not get to see Neville hold the gold till Elimination Chamber or beyond, so the best thing WWE could do at Payback is let him get a clean win over King Barrett, who happens to be a former Intercontinental champion as well.
The creative could then save Neville’s win for the Elimination Chamber where we could see him pull off some excellent move from the pod inside the chamber to win the match.
