Matt Hardy was part of the Gauntlet Match last night on RAW where the winner would earn a United States Championship opportunity. Over the past two weeks, Hardy has lost to both Buddy Murphy and Drew McIntyre, but was still given an opportunity in this match only to be eliminated by Ricochet.

The botch came when Ricochet pinned Hardy. The referee counted to three, but the announcer didn't state that he was eliminated, so for a number of seconds both Hardy and Ricochet were sitting in the ring waiting to be told if he had indeed been eliminated or not.

In the end, Hardy decided to leave the ring since he was aware that the referee had counted the three and the announcer then stated that Hardy had been eliminated so Humberto Carrillo could then come out as the fifth participant in the match.

Later in the match, Humberto looked to deliver an arm drag to Ricochet, but when he rolled under the two men unhooked their arms and Ricochet had to grab back onto him so he could catapult to the outside.
