WWE RAW: 3 Things WWE secretly told us with The Undertaker's return tonight

Did anyone see this coming?

The RAW after Stomping Grounds saw Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre beating down a helpless Roman Reigns in a two-on-one match, and guess who decided to show up and help The Big Dog? The Demon of the Death Valley - The Undertaker!

Just 24 hours after defeating Drew McIntyre at Stomping Grounds, even after the constant interference from Shane-o-Mac, Roman Reigns found himself helpless the following night, but an unlikely ally in The Phenom is the best backup you can ask for.

There was no one that saw this return from the Phenom and it was one of the most genuine shocks. Later that night, it was announced that he will team up with Roman Reigns to take on Shane and Drew at Extreme Rules. But the biggest question now is that why did the Undertaker return to aid Roman Reigns?

In this article, let's take a look at the three things WWE secretly told us through this segment on RAW tonight. How excited are you to see Taker back?

#3 Roman Reigns has earned the respect of The Undertaker

In the latest WWE NEWS, Roman Reigns is the guy who almost retired the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. Last time someone (Brock Lesnar) defeated The Phenom at WrestleMania, he came back to take revenge from him. But this time, Taker has returned to assist Roman Reigns.

This could be a way to let the fans know that Roman Reigns has earned the respect of the legend. This would help put Roman over, but only if he already had not already been put over many times before.

#2 WWE still relies on The Phenom for ratings

As mentioned above, the ticket sales for the Stomping Grounds PPV were a massive disappointment for the company, to that extent that WWE had to give away the tickets for as low as $20.

In such a time of rating crisis, if there is one man that Vince McMahon can trust to attract the fans, it is none other than The Undertaker. The fact of the matter is that no matter what, The Phenom still is one of the biggest attractions in the world of pro-wrestling. The popularity of the Taker character is unlike anything else and him being on the card of Extreme Rules would surely assure the ticket sales are decent.

#1 An attempt to get some babyface treatment for Roman

This looks like a dangerous team!
This looks like a dangerous team!

When Roman returned after overcoming his leukemia earlier this year, he was treated as a hero by the fans, something which he is not used to. Ever since Vince decided to shove The Big Dog down our throats at every possible opportunity, fans have started booing him.

While WWE has done a good job at keeping him away from the title scene, him being referred to as the biggest acquisition in the history of SmackDown, and going over the likes of Drew McIntyre hasn't gone well with the fans. If this continues, it won't be long before Reigns again starts getting the old heat from the WWE Universe.

Now, what's the best way to ensure he remains a babyface and gets that treatment from the fans? Team him up against The Undertaker. One thing is for sure, fans love Taker so much and if you put even Lacey Evans in his team (just an example, don't do that for real, Vince), they'll cheer for her too.

Roman and Taker as a team have dominance written all over them. Let's wait and see how The Big Dog reacts to being saved by The Phenom, and where does this story go next.

Do you think The Undertaker is back for just one match or will it be a long run?
