WWE RAW: 5 Biggest Mistakes WWE made on the show after Double or Nothing

We expected a lot more, Vince!
We expected a lot more, Vince!

After a massively successful Double or Nothing, fans were looking forward to how WWE would respond to this on tonight's Monday Night RAW. While Sami did namedrop AEW on the electric-chair segment, which in itself was weird, the show overall was nothing special.

The wildcard rule has taken away the point of having a brand-split as a select few wrestlers (Yes Roman, you!) appear on RAW every week to take away the spot of some underutilized talent, that would ultimately lead to more release requests from the superstars in the future.

The 24/7 title was also not utilized to its potential as there was a lot that could have been done with it. While there were some good moments and matches here and there, WWE still hasn't stepped up their game to compete with the rivals. It's just sad to see Vince not even trying hard enough to make RAW interesting and enjoyable.

In this article, let's take a look at the 5 biggest mistakes that WWE made on the show after Double or Nothing. Let me know your thoughts about tonight's show in the comments section below.

#5 No proper match in the first hour

What do you do when you are competing with a rival whose biggest strength is its in-ring action? You have your best wrestlers step-up their game and put on some solid matches to put forward a statement that you still are the top-most company in pro-wrestling.

Instead what WWE chose to do was fill the first hour with promos, beat-downs, vignettes, backstage segments, etc. While all these are important for the storyline perspective of the show, WWE sometimes seems to forget that they are a "wrestling" company, not just an entertainment one.

The only match we got in the first hour, that too almost at the end of it, was Shane McMahon competing against some random cousin of Roman Reigns and honestly, no one was interested to see that. While WWE did make up for it later on with some decent in-ring action, like the Cesaro vs Ricochet and Seth vs Sami Zayn matches, Vince needs to realize that fans come to watch wrestling and not just promos and interviews.

WWE does have all the arsenal in its disposal, and it is sad to see them not utilizing it properly.

#4 Too many ads

Vince, please focus more on the show!
Vince, please focus more on the show!

While I completely understand the revenue stream from ads that WWE gets and how important they are, it just gets irritating after a point as a viewer. WWE has a habit of putting up too many ads too often.

It was visible tonight, and I felt the ads were more than they usually are. WWE needs to make the fans watch their shows, and having so many ads would distract them from focusing on the content and might lead to falling ratings as well.

#3 The Women's Tag Team Champs losing every week

The Women's Tag Team Championship was announced after years of struggle. With Sasha and Bayley as the champions, the title looked prestigious and seemed set to bring a huge revolution to women's wrestling.

However, the current champs The IIconics, have been booked so poorly that one simply can't take them or the titles seriously. One of the biggest plus points of AEW is that they will make the wins-losses matter. The IIconics, on the other hand, are booked as jobbers even after being the tag champs. Tonight, they faced Becky Lynch and Nikki Cross in a rematch from last week and lost again.

WWE seriously needs to move the titles to someone else and book them strongly to make the championship seem credible.

#2 The Usos and The Revival being wasted

Throughout the show, The Usos block party was shown again and again. While there was some continuation of their feud with The Revival, booking these two teams in comedic segments week after week is ridiculous.

Being two of the best teams in WWE, they deserve much more than this. I, for once, would have loved to see a best of seven series between The Usos and The Revival. These two teams can put on great matches and help WWE in the war against AEW as tag-team wrestling is a plus-point of the rivals.

The Uso block party was at max a good segment for the 24/7 title scene, but booking two of your best teams on it is not acceptable. The Revival would surely be waiting for their contracts to expire and move on to AEW and actually enjoy what they love. We all saw how happy and fresh Dean Ambrose, aka Jon Moxley, looked at Double or Nothing, and maybe we will only get to witness the best of Revival once they leave WWE.

Also, where are the RAW Tag Team Champs?

#1 Making rules and not following them

First of all, I'm not a fan of the "Wildcard" rule. There are a lot of things extremely wrong with it. Kofi and Roman appear on RAW every week, taking away all the surprise factor of it. Also, Vince declared that at most 4 superstars would be allowed to use the wildcard rule, but tonight we saw Kofi, Ziggler, Roman, Xavier, R-Truth, and Carmella show up on RAW, thus clearly eschewing the rule.

Other than that, the fatal-4-way match for the #1 contender of Universal Championship was announced to be an elimination match. Firstly, it was weird to include Braun and Bobby Lashley in the match as everyone knew none of them would win since they have a match against each-other at Super ShowDown.

If that was not enough, WWE completely forgot the elimination part of it as Corbin pinned The Miz to win the match. While it could be argued that Braun and Bobby got counted out, it was just a bad way to go forward with the match. WWE seriously needs to avoid such mistakes on their shows as fans were completely confused with the proceedings.
