WWE Raw: 5 biggest questions from this week’s episode (August 12, 2019)

Is Braun Strowman's target the United States Championship or something else?
Is Braun Strowman's target the United States Championship or something else?

On the heels of WWE SummerSlam, Raw was prepared to take the spillovers of the storylines left by the mega event and tried to turn it into something even bigger for the coming weeks.

From the heart Ziggler showed against Goldberg, to Seth Rollins’ big victory over 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar, there was a lot achieved on this week’s episode of Raw as well.

Apart from that, a shocking return made things even sweeter for the red brand and has now put Becky Lynch under much more danger than she was in before this week’s Raw.

This week’s episode also left us with a lot of questions at the end of the night, as many segments and bookings caught the fans off-guard.

In this article, we will look at the 5 biggest questions fans have from this week’s episode of Raw.

#5 Robert Roode still exists?

This is more a question fans had before this week’s Raw. Robert Roode had been completely missing from the ring for a time, and we only saw him a few times during the initial 24/7 Championship drama.

This week on Raw, the creative remembered that the former United States and Raw Tag Team Champion also exists on the roster, and booked him in a match against No Way Jose.

Roode delivered a big Spinebuster and followed with the Glorious DDT for the pinfall victory to end the match as quickly as possible.

This makes one wonder how WWE can bring talent to the top and then put them back on the shelf so quickly without too much trouble. It also makes us wonder how badly a superstar can get affected or get disheartened by the booking decisions of the creative and limited running time of the main programs.

Robert Roode, Rusev, Authors of Pain, and many other top superstars are all victims of this problem.

#4 Is the Women’s Tag Team Championship in good hands?

From no mention of the Women’s Tag Team Championships to being in the mix once again, the titles have seen a lot of ups and downs.

When the Boss n Hug Connection held the titles, they were very active and were trying to defend the titles across all three brands. Once The IIconics got their hands on the belts, they completely disappeared and gave us below average matches once every few weeks.

Now that Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have the championships, we have seen them being defended twice in two days already, which is finally a good sign for the championships.

On the preshow at SummerSlam, Nikki and Alexa defended their titles against the previous champions, and they were back again on Raw the next night to take on the Kabuki Warriors for the titles.

With this change in fate for the titles, fans are wondering whether the titles are finally in good hands once again.

#3 What’s next for Rey Mysterio?

Rey Mysterio is one of the few legendary performers still working tirelessly on the main roster. He has seen it all and conquered all in his long and prosperous career.

Currently, Rey Mysterio seems to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. From competing for the United States Championship against Samoa Joe to being beaten night after night on Raw, one wonders what’s next for Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio has had many more losses than wins since his WWE return, and things seem to be getting worse for the superstar as weeks go by. He got pinned twice consecutively against Andrade on Raw last night, which now makes fans wonder whether WWE has a new storyline for the superstar, or whether he is just there to give the new superstars a push.

Andrade is one man who seriously deserves a push, and a loss to him should not hurt Mysterio. However, how much longer can Mysterio continue with this losing streak?

#2 Is this the end of McIntyre and Alexander's feud?

After assisting Roman Reigns against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon, Cedric found himself on the right side of the bookings, as he was pushed into a rivalry against The Scottish Psychopath.

Cedric surprised the entire WWE Universe by picking up a hard-fought victory over McIntyre and became a regular on Raw in the weeks that followed.

While things seemed to keep getting better for the former Cruiserweight Champion, he was defeated by McIntyre last night after an extremely good match.

With the scores level between them, we wonder whether this is the end of the road for the rivalry between the two superstars. The beating at the hands of McIntyre could result in another push for the bigger superstar, while Cedric might be brushed under the rug once again.

However, there is still a chance that WWE has something bigger planned for both superstars, and we hope we get to see that soon. What will happen between the superstars in the weeks to come?

#1 Is Braun Strowman getting back in the title picture?

BRAAUUUUN!!!

Just when Seth Rollins and Ricochet seemed outnumbered and we weren’t sure of who’d head out to even out the odds, it was Braun Strowman who returned to take out all three members of The O.C single-handedly.

With that segment, WWE did a great job of catapulting Strowman right back up where he deserves to be, putting him in the championship picture once again.

However, which title is Braun Strowman eyeing at this time? As a face, he should be going after AJ Styles and his United States Championship. On the other hand, Ricochet is already in contention for that title and has been feuding with Styles for it.

Seth Rollins is currently holding the Universal Championship but is also playing a babyface character, which makes one believe that Strowman might turn heel soon and go after Rollins’ title.
