WWE RAW: 5 Surprises that could happen next week - King of The Ring interrupted, Participant replaced

Could we see The Fiend interrupt proceedings on WWE RAW?
Could we see The Fiend interrupt proceedings on WWE RAW?

Things seem to have picked up since WWE SummerSlam 2019. The ratings, while not fantastic, are slowly creeping up to numbers that can be deemed quite admirable.

WWE RAW has the King of the Ring tournament starting this week, and it will be quite interesting to see if this can help WWE retain the viewership (or even improve upon it) after the solid numbers from the post-SummerSlam show. And to achieve the same, WWE will need to book a surprise or five.

Here are 5 interesting things that could happen on the show that would make it quite the event. Let me know your thoughts and views about the same, in the comments section below...

Which of these surprises would you potentially like to see take place?

#5 Braun Strowman defeats AJ Styles to become the new US Champion

How do you leave someone like Braun Strowman off your SummerSlam card? While this question will probably never be answered and maybe cannot even be answered logically, let's hope that WWE remedies this by pushing the Monster Among Men all the way to the top. Strowman will be taking on AJ Styles for the United States Championship on RAW, and this is his chance to return to the conversation once again.

AJ Styles is someone who can take the Monster Among Men to the limit and also sell in such a manner that he makes Strowman seem dominant once again. Styles vs. Strowman is also a fresh feud and it will mean that the program could stretch all the way to Survivor Series, with other members of The OC getting involved in the fracas as well. Maybe so can Finn Balor when he returns to the ring after his hiatus.

#4 A new team steps up to face The OC

The Street Profits are still the NXT Tag Team Champions as the Undisputed ERA were unsuccessful when it came to unseating them at NXT TakeOver. But then again, they are on at every episode of WWE RAW in backstage segments. Could it finally be time for them to challenge for the gold on RAW?

The OC could potentially lose all of their gold on the same night. It would be very interesting indeed to see The Street Profits challenge The OC and become Champions in their first match on the WWE main roster, to the surprise of everyone. It would also amp up the division as it is clear that The Revival will be feuding with The New Day on SmackDown Live next.

Without giving away spoilers, The Street Profits may not be in NXT for much longer. Bigger things may be planned for them.

#3 Seth Rollins' new Universal Championship challenger is finally unveiled

Now that Brock Lesnar is out of the WWE Universal Championship picture, it can finally become interesting again with Rollins putting on great matches every night. Who will have the first real feud against Rollins?

If you look at the pool of names that are not in the King of the Ring tournament as well as Braun Strowman, who will be facing AJ Styles, it only leaves a few options. Could someone like Aleister Black be the first to step up and challenge for the prized title?

Black may be in SmackDown Live, but with the Wild Card rule, it is all too possible for him to challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. At the same time, it could even be someone that gets knocked out of the tournament in the first round, like Samoa Joe.

Maybe it could even be someone like the legendary Goldberg!

#2 The Fiend attacks The Miz to replace him in the King of the Ring

I don't mean this as a sign of disrespect to The Miz, but it's almost impossible that he'll emerge as the victor in the King of the Ring tournament! Which is why I'd like to see someone like Bray Wyatt just beat The Miz to a pulp and take his place in the King of the Ring tournament, which will create an instant, lasting impression.

Suddenly, it's not just a tournament of mid-carders anymore, this is a tournament where the hottest star in pro wrestling is slowly inching up the ranks to establish his dominance. Winning the King of the Ring would definitely launch The Fiend into the Universal Championship picture. And all of the wrongs that have been done with Bray Wyatt will potentially be rectified by giving him an instant push, right to the top!

#1 The Fiend attacks Elias, there's an unexpected title change

As we can see from the clip in this video, Elias may be the 24/7 Champion but there's more than one contender hot on his trail right now. However, he has been able to thwart the likes of Drake Maverick, who tried to steal his title during a recording session.

Imagine Elias performing before the audience, only for the lights to go out and for The Fiend to leave him in a heap in the middle of the ring! This would allow someone like R-Truth or Drake Maverick to sneak up and become Champion.

By making this title change happen, WWE does not make Elias look weak and more importantly, has The Fiend show up in a moment that nobody expects. Such cameos are necessary in my opinion, as The Fiend is the hottest character in the show.

Would you guys agree?
