WWE RAW after SummerSlam: 4 things we could expect to see tonight - Universal Title shot for former IC Champion, Reigns pairing with Joe? (12/08/2019)

The things we could expect tonight
The things we could expect tonight

The fallout episode after a PPV is usually the most exciting, and when that said PPV is SummerSlam, which in itself gives birth to new storylines, then we could expect something fabulous.

Last year, we had Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair to look forward to. The two former best friends became bitter enemies when The Man turned on The Queen at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

In hindsight, it was that very moment at SummerSlam that led to the Women’s Revolution reaching a peak and, as a result, making WrestleMania 35 the first-ever of its kind to have been main evented by women.

While we didn’t get a turn like Becky Lynch’s in this year’s WWE SummerSlam, the re-debut of Bray Wyatt as The Fiend has sent shockwaves across the wrestling community.

Apart from that, the Beastslayer Seth Rollins got rid of Brock Lesnar in a very intriguing encounter, making it all the more essential for us to watch RAW tonight.

So, without further ado, here are 4 things that we could see on RAW tonight…

#4 The Fiend attacking one of Ziggler or Miz

The Fiend made the headlines for his superb showing at SummerSlam. He dismantled Finn Balor in a squash match, and he will now need a new opponent going forward.

On RAW tonight, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz are set to take on each other. The Show-off got a beating of his life at the hands of Goldberg and could be in for some more if he becomes Bray Wyatt’s next victim.

My wild prediction is that when the A-Lister faces Ziggler, the Fiend could interfere and attack any one of the two and set up a feud that could run until the next PPV, which is Clash of Champions, next month.

#3 Sasha Banks finally returning and attacking Becky Lynch

It's time for her to come back
It's time for her to come back

Okay, okay. I understand if you are currently hugging your palms with your face and whispering “not again” because we have had about a million instances where we predicted a Sasha Banks return to WWE.

But, so far, it hasn’t happened. Even though, there were reports of it happening by now.

But again, it didn’t happen at SummerSlam.

So what now? What’s next for Banks? Ever since she and Bayley lost their Women’s Tag Team Titles to the IIconics, she hasn’t been seen on TV. There were reports of her wanting to quit, but that hasn’t happened either.

As a result, it is safe to assume that she is going to return eventually. It has to happen sooner rather than later. Two of the biggest PPVs of the year have already been concluded and this is generally the time when new feuds take place and new stories begin.

Since Becky Lynch has successfully defended her RAW Women's Title against Natalya at SummerSlam, it won’t be shocking to assume that she now needs a new challenger.

And who better to pit her up against than Banks at this point in time?

#2 Roman Reigns-Samoa Joe alliance

The two Joes
The two Joes

On a personal level, this is something I would love to see. I am sure many fans are also in the same boat, as there is something cool about two Samoan Joes teaming up with each other and taking on, most likely, Daniel Bryan and Rowan.

So, let’s rewind a little bit.

Roman Reigns was attacked on SmackDown by a mystery Superstar two weeks before SummerSlam. Almost everyone thought that it was Samoa Joe and that really infuriated him to the point that he wanted an apology from Reigns on the following WWE RAW episode.

As it turned out, Joe wasn’t the attacker after all, as a vehicle rammed into Reigns’ car as Joe was about to confront Reigns. Joe himself warned the attacker after that and in the following episode of SmackDown Live, Reigns apologised to the Samoan Submission Machine.

Buddy Murphy then spilled the name of Rowan as Reigns’ mystery attacker and, as a result, there is definitely going to be something on this front on RAW tonight. Since Rowan is going to be assisted by Daniel Bryan, Reigns will need a partner alongside him.

And since it was Joe’s name that was dragged to mud due to Rowan’s actions, the former NXT Champion has incentive for revenge, paving the way for a dream team pairing.

#1 A new challenge for Rollins

They deserve a push
They deserve a push

We all know this, don’t we? It would be extremely shocking to see Brock Lesnar appear on RAW tonight to claim a rematch against Seth Rollins, and it wouldn’t also make sense as the fans want to see something new.

As a result, there is a very good possibility of WWE having a new challenger for Seth Rollins’ throne – of this, there is no question. The question, however, is ‘who’.

Who is going to challenge Rollins for the title?

The last time, Paul Heyman used a Top-10 Battle Royal to determine who would take on Lesnar, at SummerSlam and Seth Rollins won that. We could see something similar happening but on a much smaller scale.

The likes of Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman have been long overdue a title shot and even though both of them have lost some serious momentum in recent weeks, they seem like the only RAW Superstars who could pose a legit challenge to Rollins.

Obviously, Samoa Joe is also on RAW, but he might be playing a part in the Roman Reigns storyline, leaving the aforementioned two as viable candidates.

(And dare I whisper with fading hope: Cesaro.)
