WWE: RAW Preview for 5th August

Brock

As we reach the penultimate stop before SummerSlam, Monday Night RAW promises to be an exciting episode. After the average show last week, this week’s show furthers the storylines leading up to the mega event of the summer, as RAW rolls into Green Bay, Wisconsin.

With Vince McMahon telling Triple H and Stephanie last week that Daniel Bryan needs a make-over to look like a “corporate champion”, things are bound to get interesting. Also, wwe.com has been asking the fans to shave Daniel Bryan’s beard off through an interactive game for a couple of weeks now. Is that any indication for things to come? What can we expect from this week’s episode? Let’s find out.

Daniel Bryan goes through a “make-over”

Can you imagine Daniel Bryan in a suit, clean shaven, after more than a year? If you think “well, that’s just preposterous”, we may get to witness it after all. With Vince McMahon telling Triple H and Stephanie McMahon that Daniel Bryan needs to be more “presentable”, they found a solution in a corporate make-over for the bearded superstar.

The last time Vince tried to do a “corporate make-over” for a superstar, he turned out to become his biggest foe, who was Stone Cold Steve Austin. Can we expect something along the lines? Or will Daniel Bryan get on Vince’s good side? This has to be one of the most phenomenal pushes in recent history, as Daniel Bryan went from being a mid carder who can out-wrestle anyone to being the hottest superstar in the company. Will Daniel Bryan be the next “Rattlesnake”? We will have to wait and find out.

‘The Beast’ makes his appearance

There is no one else in the WWE Universe who can make his presence felt quite like the youngest WWE champion in the history, Brock Lesnar. The last time we saw Lesnar on RAW, he completely annihilated the Second City Saint and threw him around the ring like a ragdoll.

With Brock Lesnar facing CM Punk at SummerSlam, what will transpire this week? CM Punk can hardly wait to get his hands on Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar, and he will get his opportunity early when Lesnar comes back to RAW tonight.

The re-birth of a veteran

Christian New

Last week on SmackDown, Christian won the triple threat match against Orton and RVD to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight championship. After a great back and forth bout, Orton and RVD shook hands with Captain Charisma, who was then blindsided by the World Heavyweight champion, Alberto Del Rio.

Christian hasn’t been a World champion for two years, and was sidelined for a major part of the last year. With Christian climbing the ranks once again, can he dethrone the World champion at SummerSlam? But before that, how will the number one contender react to the attack last week? Things get interesting once again in the World championship scene with an old rivalry being revisited.

The Wyatt Family targets Kane once again

Kane’s return wasn’t eventful to say the least, as the ‘Big Red Monster’ first lost his match to Daniel Bryan, and was then attacked by the Wyatt Family once again, putting him down.

With Bray Wyatt telling Kane not to call himself the Devil’s favourite demon ever again, how will Kane respond to the recent string of attacks by Bray Wyatt and his “followers”? What did Bray Wyatt mean when he told Kane to “follow the buzzards”? The eerie family made their intentions clear, and it will be interesting to see what happens this week on RAW.

Layla turns on her friend

Last week on SmackDown, Layla turned on her friend Kaitlyn and joined forces with the Divas champion, AJ Lee. Kaitlyn’s two former best friends have turned their back on her, and one has to wonder where this leaves Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn has lost everyone close to her, as AJ Lee begins playing mind games weeks before the mega event, where she defends her Divas championship.

How will Kaitlyn react to the recent turn of events? We will get all our answers tonight, on Monday Night RAW.
