We kick off Monday Night Raw with Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley coming out to the ring. They call out the entire Raw roster for what has been billed as the first episode of Monday Night Raw of the ‘New Era’, before Stephanie severely admonishes Roman Reigns for not bringing back the WWE Title to Monday Night Raw.
They then introduce the brand new WWE Universal Title, and say one man will be fighting Seth Rollins for it. That one man would be determined on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw, through two Fatal Fourways; the respective winners of which will face each other in the main event of the night to book a date against Rollins at SummerSlam.
Here are the complete WWE Raw Results for 25th July, 2016:
Finn Balor wins the first Fatal Fourway of the night after outlasting Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Rusev. He pins Rusev clean after landing a Coup de Grace!
Nia Jax’s Raw debut is next, as she makes shot work of a jobber, squashing her and putting the Women’s Division on notice. As it would turn out, this would hardly be the highlight of the day for the Women though.
The second Fatal Fourway match is next, with Reigns, Jericho, Zayn and Sheamus doing battle to book their berth in the night’s main event. Perhaps predictably, Reigns picks up the win after he spears Chris Jeicho and pins him for the 3 count.
The New Day come out after this to celebrate becoming the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time! 337 days! But their celebration is cut short by Gallows and Anderson, who take them out and make a statement in the process.
Curtis Axel is referred to as “Mr. Irrelevant” by the ring announcer as he faced a returning Neville. Wasn't a long match, as Neville hits the Red Arrow and picks up the victory here.
Sasha Banks faced Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship next, and we are treated to what is possibly the match of the night. A new champion is crowned as Sasha Banks taps out Charlotte after an excellent to-and-fro battle.
A new look Braun Strowman then enjoys the first match of his singles run as he squashes a jobber brutally in no time.
Up next was Enzo and Cass, as they come out to a massive reaction from the crowd, only to be interrupted by the Shining Stars. Yet another formality of a match as Enzo and Cass pick up the relatively quick win and continue their momentum.
Big upset in the main event as Finn Balor beats Roman Reigns clean after a pretty solid match that was replete with near falls. He celebrates with the fans as he goes on to face Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam for the newly conceived WWE Universal Title!
