WWE Raw Review: Who's going to be the lone survivor?

The final segment of Raw was predictable in many ways. But unpredictability seeped into it here and there. The traditional Survivor Series Tag Match is a well-hyped match in the WWE. It has its own repute. There is something special about every PPV amidst the Big Four - Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Summerslam and Survivor Series.

Wrestlemania needs to introduction. It is the biggest PPV in the history of professional wrestling. Royal Rumble comes with its own set of unpredictability. The sheer excitement to see who’ll be the surprise entrant this time around, is something that keeps the crowd on their feet and keeps them hooked all throughout.

Summerslam is the PPV where all the drama transpires and plays itself out. The level of drama is at its peak in this PPV. Whether it is Brock Lesnar becoming the youngest WWE Champion to decimating SuperCena in a matter of 16 German Suplexes or The Summer Of Punk- Summerslam has its own style.

The tradition

Now we have Survivor Series on the way. What matters in this PPV is the traditional Tag Match. The tradition being that whoever is the last man surviving in the bout will have a great near future ahead of him. It is a big deal. It is something that the Intercontinental Title was in the good old days.

It something what Money In The Bank aims to be. Coming out as a star at Survivor Series means that the management believes in you and the crowd should be looking at someone who is going to take the WWE by storm. It never usually happens immediately, but it will happen eventually.

The Rock did not become a star after he was the last man who survived in 1996. He was Rocky Maivia then and the audience wasn't really impressed by him. They got used to him and got over him quickly. The lone surviving fact that he turned into The Rock is a string point in the management’s favour that they saw potential in this guy.

Roman Reigns won it last year and he hasn’t taken the WWE by storm yet but we should wait for it.

All Things Predictable

Over to the main event of RAW, John Cena was going on rambling as usual. And, the Authority was listening to him attentively, even though Triple H was making fun of it in his own way. John Cena stood in front of them like a one man army.

He was doing all the talking. At that point, he looked like a leader who has no one to lead and then John Cena and the WWE probably started to unsuccessfully strike the emotional chords and get the tissue papers out. Cena high-fived his fans and even though he looked like a leader who has no one to lead, he was satisfied that he leads the WWE Universe.

And then some more predictability followed. If you are an ardent fan, you’d notice and conclude that when Stephanie put her microphone down on the table, she was on her way to slap John Cena.

And another predictable fact remains that that segment was done to imprint the team members on each team and build up Ryback’s inevitable inclusion into the babyface side. All of that happened but in between that a couple of unpredictable things took place too.

All Good Things

Erick Rowan made his way to the ring and shocked everyone by looking at his former family in Harper eye to eye and declare a fight. What was delightful was Cesaro making his way to the ring.

What was funny was Cena’s reaction when Cesaro fooled him and joined Team Authority. It didn’t matter who Cesaro is with, it matters that despite his ‘punishment’, he’s still involved in great matches and marquee events. All of that helped Ryback eventually showing up and taking out a team that outnumbers his team.

Team Cena is still one member short. Is anyone hearing voices in their head?
