WWE should retire popular Championships in massive upcoming swerve

WWE thrived under the new regime under Triple H, but there are some downsides to the current creative that should be fixed in the near future.

The women's tag team division has been in shambles over the past year after Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the company and relinquished the titles. It would be best for the company to retire a set of women's tag titles in the coming weeks.

Last year, the division was inactive as the company had no creative plans for the titles. However, the new regime paid more attention to the division by holding a new tournament and crowned Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah as the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

Regardless of their efforts, the company is still unable to make the division work, especially since the arrival of NXT Women's Tag Team Championships on the blue brand. Hence, the company should retire the NXT version of the title on RAW after WWE Night of Champions 2023.

The company should surprise the fans with a massive swerve by retiring the NXT Tag titles and adding current champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn to the upcoming title match. The two should end up winning the titles and defend it across all three brands.

Why should the company retire the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships over the WWE Women's Tag Team titles?

In 2019, WWE introduced the Women's Tag Team Championships on the main roster, and the inaugural champions were crowned after Sasha Banks and Bayley defeated five other teams in the Elimination Chamber match. Unfortunately, their reign ended sooner than expected.

Meanwhile, the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships were created after Adam Pearce screwed the NXT locker room of a shot at winning the titles. This led to the creation of a new set of belts for the developmental brand. During the Draft, the titles made their way to the main roster.

The ideal choice would be to retire one of these belts, as the company or the brands lack the depth in their roster to carry two sets of champions. Meanwhile, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship has an extended legacy over the latter.

The division needs a reboot, and retiring the extra set of titles and crowning Albra Fyre and Isla Dawn as the new champions over Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler would be best for business.
