WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Five things you can take away from the PPV

Certainly, a Rumble to forget

#2 Whatever happened to surprise entrants

WWE may have missed a trick by not having Angle onboard

The 2016 Royal Rumble saw Triple H become the WWE champion. There was another peculiar reason that the Rumble was one of WWE’s most boring experiments, the absence of legends and surprise entrants. Fans love watching the Royal Rumble only for the reason mentioned above and 2017 was no different.

With Lesnar, Goldberg and The Undertaker already advertised for the event, the WWE decided to keep on hold the additional star power as the main event featured no surprise returns. The fans counted in a chorus as the clock ticked away from ten approaching the two-minute mark and yet again, only an expected familiar face walked out through the curtain.

This trend has been seen for the last couple of years and fans may soon lose hopes of seeing any legends. The WWE must, in fact, apologise to fans who constantly had Kurt Angle posters on display. What a kill joy.
