What’s the story?

Seth Rollins has been working with an injury for some time and WWE are making sure he does not worsen it. He has been kept away from in-ring performances, both on RAW and the Live Events, ever since he won the Royal Rumble in January.

In case you didn’t know…

Rumours about his possible injury started going about after he was kept off WWE Live Events following the Rumble. It was later confirmed that he has a back injury and will need some time to recover from it.

The heart of the matter

The extent on Rollins' injury has been kept a secret but it has got the fans worrying about the match at WrestleMania. The Architect is expected to take the title away from Brock Lensar and if he doesn't get fit in time, WWE might have to make some big changes in the plans.

Dave Meltzer provided some update on Rollins' injury on Wrestling Observer Newsletter and said:

“His back has been hurting for some time. Leading into the Royal Rumble, he knew he needed to take time off after the show for it to heal. He could wrestle right now if needed, but it’s felt it’s better for him to rest and heal than to make it worse given his position at WrestleMania. The idea is they want him as close to 100 percent as possible for WrestleMania.” [via SE Scoops]

WWE are doing all they can to make sure the match at WrestleMania goes ahead and also ensuring that Rollins remains fit.

What’s next?

With Rollins still recovering, he won't be involved in any matchup for some time. WWE creative will now have to work out a way to buildup the feud between him and Brock Lesnar heading into WrestleMania without having the Beast Incarnate man-handle his opponent like he has done so far in WWE.
