#4 Update on Lana's future after Rusev's release
As reported extensively in the past few weeks, Rusev was engaged in a protracted contract dispute with the company and his WWE exit seemed inevitable.
It finally happened this week as WWE released The Bulgarian Brute along with many other Superstars.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lana will not be released:
He hadn’t been used much of late and was involved in a contract dispute. His wife, Catherine Jo Perry (Lana) will not be cut.
Her real-life husband may have been released but that hasn't stopped the Ravishing Russian from taking shots at Rusev on social media. Lana has stuck to kayfabe and continued her storyline on Twitter, which is weird and refreshingly entertaining at the same time.
Fan speculation suggests that Rusev could be on his way to AEW, but that, as we stated earlier, is just what the fans wish to see at this moment.
While Rusev works towards possibly securing a deal with another promotion, Lana will continue to be a featured talent in the WWE for the foreseeable future.
