With Rey Mysterio's career all set to take an interesting turn in the coming few months, the WWE management has already shown interest in having his son, Dominick Gutierrez, extend Mysterio's legacy in the company, as revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dominick returned to WWE TV for the first time since he appeared as a kid back in 2005, during his legendary father's feud with Samoa Joe a few months back.

Having being trained by Lance Storm, the 21-year-old Dominick aspires to follow in his father's footsteps and the WWE also wants to provide him with the biggest platform to do so.

However, WWE is still not sure whether he is ready to compete at the big stage and are hoping that he is ready to take the next step by 2020.

Rey Mysterio is currently going through an interesting phase himself. On the most recent episode of Raw, the former WWE Champion got extremely emotional backstage after a clean sweep loss to Andrade in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Mysterio claimed that he had never lost two falls in a row and that he was sceptical about the direction of his career. Mysterio said that he has a family to support and a lot to think about regarding his future.

He even posted this on Instagram, further fueling a potential retirement:

The current storyline seems like it may lead to Dominick's reintroduction on WWE TV and a possible push towards his in-ring WWE debut.
