#2 Top Superstar Randy Orton to have a short reign as the WWE Champion

Randy Orton beat Drew McIntyre at HIAC to become a 14-time WWE Champion. It was reported that WWE was keen on having the third match between Edge and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37. As per Dave Meltzer of WOR, the plans are still intact which is why Orton won the WWE Championship.

I certainly was given the impression tonight that it's Orton and Edge the direction right now for that championship.

He further added that WWE Champion Randy Orton may not get a lengthy title reign and is quite possibly just a transitional Champion for now. Randy Orton may be a short-time Champion which can be taken as a step backwards as per Dave Meltzer.
