As noted previously, former WWE Champion Big Show was quietly moved to the alumni section on WWE.com. While speculation was rampant on if he had left WWE or not, AEW announced that they have signed Paul Wight aka The Big Show.
As per PWInsider, Big Show's deal with WWE came to an end soon after his last appearance on RAW Legends Night. It was also stated that Big Show had been vocal about being unhappy with his position in the company.

PWInsider.com is told that WWE and Wight were unable to come to terms on a new deal financially and his final contract with the company last month, days after he made an appearance being verbally bullied by Randy Orton on the Raw Legends Night episode on 1/4.
They also stated a source told them that Wight had been very open about not being happy with the situation. This could have been the reason why he left WWE to join AEW.
Paul Wight will be serving as an in-ring talent in AEW. He will also be a commentator on AEW Dark: Elevation.
